Los Olivos at the Yard — Hotel in Stellenbosch Local Municipality

Not sure how Establishments can send these requests! We booked Penthouse 3 ages ago for my bday - been going to Franschoek for 17 years on my birthday! And a week prior when I asked about the balance, I was told it was still under Construction!!!! (not advised anytime prior) and they offered some other awful different vibe offering which was nothing what we had in mind - so we asked for a refund of deposit - this took forever BUT then unknown lady advised that there were indeed 2 weekends available before the Penthouse was not theirs to rent anymore - so we asked for 1st - nope that was not possible! so we took the 8th Jan!! THEN FURTHER LOCKDOWN happened again and I am not leaving my home here (when it has already not been our fault delaying a birthday weekend - not once ever have we had to do that on my birthday) when cannot go to restaurants and enjoy our local spots with vino - no vino with transport - so I advised we required a refund - to which we got a dam rude and bloody dismissive reply - "The President did not lock travel" - that is not the point! we were not going to JHB - we were going to our favourite spot in SA - Franschoek to enjoy a delayed bday weekend and without bubbly, vino etc, forget that money being spent and with the COVID Strain 2 - we did not wish to go traveling further than our bubble - so no alcohol at gorgeous restaurants and putting ourselves in an apartment where we do not know the cleaning protocols etc! - WELL ZERO REFUND HAS BEEN RECEIVED AND I HAVE NOW DECIDED TO GO ONTO FB AND TRAVEL BOARD UNTIL...

The location is unbeatable! You are walking distance from everything you need (grocery store was only 5 minute walk away). Great cafes and restaurants right down stairs. Well supplied apartment (coffee maker, robes, wine, chocolate treat, fresh flowers) -- we were pleasantly surprised by the special touches. One of the best vineyards Haute Cabrière is only a minute drive down the road. We booked through their website and communicated through WhatsApp. They were quick to respond and very pleasant and helpful. Will definitely stay here again on our next visit!

The accommodation was very good, and from our perspective, extremely conveniently placed. Access to the property and the secure parking, was excellent as well. My only reservation about the property, is that there is a public toilet situated immediately adjacent to the main access door to the penthouse apartment we were occupying.
