I don’t even know where to begin with to be honest since I’m still speechless about our amazing time at Le Petit Manoir.||When my husband and I arrived in Franschhoek and the guest house, we couldn’t have encountered a better welcoming. We were greeted with beaming eyes by Frank and this team and offered a glas of Bubbly straight away! There was no dragging long check in process, just the two of us with a glass of Cap Classique in our hands relaxing after a long car drive.||Entering our room was a continuous mouth drop and instantly saying: this is what I would want my place to look like one day. The modern interior, the quite spacious terrace with our own little hot tub (which you have to book a certain room category for) and the coziness of it all made us very happy since it was raining for quite a bit. You really feel bad leaving your room cause you just want to take it all in. ||I’m a flight attendant for 10 years now and never in my life did I experience a room like that. In the morning, you can make your own cappuccino with a capsule coffee maker and a milk frother, the mini bar is complimentary with non-alcoholic sodas, a bottle of Cap Classique Rosé and lots of snacks to choose from. Things like a towel warmer, a SMEG fridge and kettle (which just elevate the style of the room so much), an open room bathtub with bath salts and candles, a fog less bathroom mirror and Milton Brown amenities are not on your average room list.||Every staff member is trying their hardest to make you feel comfortable and at ease. While we were at dinner, they made sure our hot tub is warm enough at turn down service (of course not without leaving even more little snacks) and for the birthday of my husband there was even a lovely cake waiting for him.||Breakfast included everything you could dream of: fresh juices, good coffee options, eggs in each and every way and fresh and hot cinnamon buns for your sweet tooth.||I can’t highlight this place enough for your next stay in the wine region of Franschhoek, you really don’t want...
Read moreOne of the worst food experiences, made worse by poor customer service skills. We requested our lamb rack be cooked medium, all 3 of us received raw lamb chops. The waitress agreed so we sent it back for another portion to arrive 45mins later. This attempt was overcooked on the outside and still raw on the inside with unrendered, inedible fat.
One of the owners popped by to enquire how the meal was going, to which I pointed out the raw meat. He offered to redo it, but I declined as we had been in the restaurant for 1.5 hours already and would run late for our subsequent wine tasting. His reply was "OKAY" and then he left. No recourse, no apology. He then proceeded to sit down at a table with customers he was familiar with.
It is unfortunate as we first ate here before covid and vowed to return- we had the best steak dish then (fillet and a glorious porcini veloute, with perfectly cooked baby carrots and tenderstem broccoli) - this time the carrots were very undercooked and raw, rather than al dente. If a rack of lamb cannot be executed, rather just change your menu to lamb cutlets.
The waitress did mention that the chefs had changed a few times, which is not surprising if they have to work under such management.
They are in the process of a full renovation, let's hope that things change for the better and the owner develops some customer service skills and just human decency. I do wish them well and hope to see the restaurant restored to what it once was. Don't do the tasting menu, there was nothing to write home about. Rather opt for the ala carte if you must, or...

I recently had the pleasure of staying at Le Petit Manoir Franschhoek and I must say, it was truly an unforgettable experience! From the moment I arrived, the staff were warm, welcoming, and went above and beyond to ensure my stay was nothing short of perfect.
The hotel's amenities were top-notch, with a stunning pool area, state-of-the-art fitness center, and delicious dining options. But what really stood out was the attention to detail and the little touches that made my stay feel truly special.
The room was spacious, stylishly decorated, and spotlessly clean, with a comfortable bed and plush pillows. The breakfast spread was incredible, with a wide variety of options to suit every taste.
But what really impressed me was the exceptional service from the staff. They were friendly, helpful, and always available to assist with any requests or queries I had.
Overall, I would highly recommend Le Petit Manoir Franschhoek to anyone looking for a luxurious and memorable stay. I can't wait to return!
