Hongdae Style Guesthouse — Hotel in Seoul

This is a warm and welcoming guesthouse that allowed us to enjoy life like a local.

This guesthouse has many advantages. It is well-located, very close to Exit 1 of the Green Line 2 subway; it is also near the main street of Hongdae and Yeonnam-dong, making it convenient to walk there for shopping and dining. In additional, the house manager Min ( @hongdae_style_min ) is a very nice person who is always eager to help and explains any questions in detail. From the booking process to check-in and check-out, he made us feel very good and warm throughout our stay. I highly recommend this guesthouse with a perfect score.

Arguably one of the better guesthouses I stayed in while visiting Seoul.

The free breakfasts were filling. The rooms were small but decent. The bathrooms were shared but decently ok (semi-clean, mold).

I think the best part about this guesthouse was their effort in making the place feel like a house- which was such a strong contrast from the busy bustling city.

The only things I’d warn you about are: The stairway up to the guesthouse are rocks, so def not wheelchair accessible. I don’t think bedsheets are washed from guest to guest. :(

Though most of people leave good reviews, I had really bad experience.

The host upgraded the room(triple room with a shared bathroom) to a triple room with a bathroom. I was grateful for that.

But other than that, the room was smelling because of poor maintenance of A/C. The lamp was full of dusts. Whenever I entered the room, the room was smelling.

In the end, I found a big insect in the room and I had to move to another accommodation because I was disgusted.

I got refunded for the rest...
