JungHwaBokChun Gold — Restaurant in Seoul

My friend and I were desperately looking for jajangmeon and tangsuyeok before our departure from Seoul. We found this place from Naver and decided to give it a shot.

Unfortunately they don’t serve tangsuyeok here. But their jajangmeon is really good! I’m very surprised by how fresh the seafood they used for the noodles. The portion is also quite large.

We also ordered a duck cold dish based on staff recommendation. It is their signature and took 3 days to prepare. Also yummy!

Food here is overall delicious. I know the price maybe a bit aggressive compared to other Korean Chinese food restaurants, but trust me, this...

Absolutely pitiful service and less than mediocre food.

가족과 같이 갔다. 장인 어른과 우리가 가족 그리고 처남 가족. 테이블을 두개 붙힌 자리였다. 요리를 3개를 시켰는데, 먼저 하나가 나왔다. 왠만하면 테이블이 두개인데 요리가 하나 나오면 그걸 나눠서 두개를 가져올지 물어보는게 보통이다. 그런데 전혀 그런 질문을 하지 않았다. 나머지 두개의 요리는 어떻게 됐느냐고 장인깨서 물으시니 이렇게 대답을 한다. "그 요리들은 시간이 많이 필요한 요리예요. 아유, 아버지 성격이 급하시네." 새파랏게 젊은 녀석이 건방지게 어디디가 손님한테 그런 말을 하는가? 그게 오래 걸리는 요리면 다른 요리를 좀 뒤늦게 가져 오든가. 처남이 잡은 식당이라 아무말 않고 넘어갔다.둘째 요리가 나왔는데 음식은 그져 그랬다. 잔뜩 모양만 내고 뽐만 내고는 맛은 별로 없는 음식. 한 마디로 겉멋만 들은 식당인것 같다. 세번째 요리가 나왔는데, 정상적인 고급 중국 식당이라면 앞 접시를 바꿔 주는게 정상이다. 전혀 그런 기미를 보이지 않았다. 나중에 디저트라고 뭐가 나왔는데, 그 젊은 녀석은 손님 앞에 하나하나씩 놓아 주는게 아니고 두개를 한손으로 들고는 한 사람 앞에 턱 내려놓는다. 이게 무슨 시장바닥도 아니고. 5,000원 짜리 밥집에도 이런 짓을 하지 않는데.

나가면서 메니저나 찾아서 한마디 하려고 해도 다들 새파랗게 젊은 녀석들밖에 없다. 얘기를 해봐야 수긍할 것 같이 생긴 너셕들이 안보인다. 더 이상 안봐도 뻔하다. 오래된 허름한 중국집에 가서 코스를 시켜 먹어도 이것보다 더 맛있었을 터인데.

오랜만에 찾은 고국....
