Hostel Vanilla 1 Dongdaemun — Hotel in Seoul

I think this place should have a top-rating - the location, the accommodation, the manager and the breakfast are all top notch!||||First, before I arrived were the useful hand-drawn directions on whatsapp. Next when I reached was the warm hospitality and the endless patience the owner manager - Soo - showed when explaining possible activities and what was based close to what so I could minimise travel time too. Her husband was also lovely.||||Third, the breakfast is plentiful and having the chance to make my own scrambled eggs was much appreciated. Forth, the room was just so cute - compact like everything in Seoul but so well decorated, tasteful little additions to make the room homey and welcoming.||||The only negative for me what that the towels are a little small but this is a hostel not a hotel so I quickly got over it!||||Hostel Vanilla 1 and Hostel Vanilla 2 are separate properties but the two lady owners are sisters so I would expect the same great welcome in both. Very convenient location. Less than 5 mins walk from Dongdaemum Metro Station. Walkable to such shopping malls as doota, Lotte Fitin, Migliore. There is a couple of restaurants, convenient stores and supermarkets nearby, opening till late hours. ||||Despite the small size and thin walls, the room is clean and neat, with towels changed and bed made everyday. The hostel is cozy. It's true that the sound isolation of the room is considerably unsatisfactory (it is a single storey building, and you could hear the sound when passing by the alley nearby) but it's still acceptable where I had pretty good sleeps in general.||||Many Asians choose this hostel. It allows you to make yourselves breakfast, e.g. bread and instant noodles and some basic drinks are provided.||||The host/staff was very nice and helpful. They picked us up the first day I checked in amid heavy rains at DDM Metro Station. The hosts are super awesome. They are above and beyond my expectation in everything. Soo contacted me when I booked the hostel about our flight and explain how to get to the hostel. And on the check in date, her husband walk to pick us up from Dongdaemun subway. Even though it was only 1 min to get to the hostel from the station. It was so convenience to travel around in Seoul by the subway. The room is in a good size for the traditional Korean style hostel. They even provide a shared kitchen with many free food for you to eat anytime. There are many good restaurants in the walking distance which are opened until late at night, and a cloth night market, which is opened until morning. Soo and her husband really made us felt like home when we were there. They help us with planing our trip and booking a bus to a ski resort. They were quick to response via Line all the time.
