Philstay Dongdaemun Economic, Seoul — Hotel in Seoul

Room is not big but spacious enough to leave a 26" suitcase open. There is a window but no view from my room. Staff is very attentive. When I arrived at ground floor in day of arrival, the staff on duty promptly hopped out (from nowhere) to carry my luggage upstairs. Similarly on the day of checkout. I suspect there is only one person on duty at a time but service remains attentive. CCTVs around the property probably helped. The room is clean when I entered but there wasn't any cleaning service or towel replacement during my stay. Facilities are reasonable for such a small property - they even have adorable tiny washing machines! Location is perfect. It's right next to airport bus stop and within 10 mins walk from dongdaemun shopping area, jongbu market and gwangjang market. Towels are provided but not for toothbrushes and slippers. Bring your own if needed. The property lists itself as hostel / B&B but I didn't find the breakfast/kitchen and didn't ask either. Receptionist speaks some English. I am very happy with what I paid for. It's a very economical option around dongdaemun (as name suggests)....

My September 2016 trip was my first time in south korea. I chose the place because its near to the subway and DDP as a catchy scenery to explore. It's also close to major shopping malls like Dootah and Lotte Fitin. The price rate is very affordable especially if youre on a budget. They have variety of breakfast choice from 7-10 am. Bed was ok, im not really picky as long as i can sleep. They have complimentary towels, soaps and shampoo you can just ask at the reception area. Fridge in the room and lockers. They lock the main doors after 12 midnight but they will give you the password if you stay late for access. They have a key deposit which you can claim when you check out. I really didnt stay much at the hostel except for sleeping at night since I was out all day to explore and enjoy my first korean trip. Their staffs are nice and helpful too. It was good. I will totally come back...
