Reservation: it was easily done as i did it via Agoda.com||||Location: the location is good as it is very close to the exit 4 of the Eul Ji Ro 4 station. It is 2 stops to Myeong Dong and 1 stop to Dongaemun. It is also a few stops away to major interchange to nearby popular places. The hostel is located sewing industrial area so there's nothing interesting around. The nearest convenience store is few steps away but after night about 10pm or 11pm it would be closed. the next nearest would be in the station 7-11. so if you intend to grab a drink or beer or snack get it at the 7-11 before you head back to TA Hostel.||the hostel is also close to the airport bus - bus stop -- which is about 2 traffic lights across the road, bus 6015 from Incheon airport and bus 6001 from GImpo airport. from Gimpo it is KRW7000 and to Incheon is KRW10,000 per person. ||the instructions on the website on how to get to the hostel was quite good.||||Environment / Rooms: i believe the hostel tries to look their best but maybe they should deal with the smell in the toilet like putting some airfresher. The front desk, 'lobby' and walls are nicely done. There's water dispenser and you could also bring a flask of water to your room. They provide the basic toiletries which is great (e.g. toothbrush, packets shampoo etc). The air con didn't seem to work well for me as it was set at 18 degrees C but it didn't feel like one and it was hotter than when i open my room door. The toilet was very simple and no place to put toiletries. The shower head was quite irritating as when i switch back to the tap head for water the shower head water will drip (a lot!) and i will be wet. The room is not very clean as one night there were cockroach and i had no choice but to kill it (see pic). The toilet smell was really not nice, which is likely a drainage issue. The hostel makes effort to decorate the walkways, room and walls. But overall it is still an old building so it does look rundown at some areas. There is a luggage store room where you could store after you check out but not overnight. The door is locked after certain hours so remember to take note of the pin if you are returning after mid night. The power points was horrible in my room. As i used adaptors, it didn't fit into one, and so in order to use the point, i have to unplug the monitor (i believe it is for tv) in order to use the only power point. the other point looks broken and many times i have to ensure the plugs do not come off. (see the pictures). This means i have no tv to watch as a result. The hostel seems to squeeze many things in one small space. They provide a small fridge and a table top monitor/tv, hairdryer, room wifi on the table and a stool. the bed looks old and thin blanket. The towels provided were 2 hand towels and no bathing towel. To change for new towels, you need to bring to the front desk to exchange for them. the towel rack is rusty. There is free international calls but in order to use it, we have to inform the reception but was told there seems to be something wrong with the phone set. I didn't use the complimentary international calls. ||||Staff: the aunty was very nice who helps with luggage as there's no lift in the hostel. i stayed at the 3rd floor. The steps are quite steep as compared to normal stairs, so watch your steps. The reception explains about the password, wifi details as you checked in. Overall there are a few staff and some staff seems bored and not very happy working there. I would not say they are overly helpful. Was told there is a 10% (if i remember correctly) to a nearby cafe for breakfast, but when i ask if it was good, i don't think the response was very good and so i didn't bother to find the...

Read moreI booked a double room in Seoul, travelers A hostel. I made the booking once on platform, but I right away noticed that the booking came through twice and the money got deducted twice from my account.
I straight away contacted the property to let them know I didn’t want to book two rooms and if they wanted to cancel this. They replied that I had to cancel the reservation. When I wanted to do that, I got the notification that I would not get any money back, so I didn’t do that and wanted to do this when I saw them in real life, as they knew I only wanted one room.
When I arrived, I had a late checkin and there was no one to help me. I checked all the keys and there was only 1 key for me, so they didn’t prepare 2 rooms for me. They also didn’t get back to me to address the issue, so I assumed they just sent back the money.
When I checked later, I was surprised that I didn’t get a refund yet. I informed them I they said they couldn’t give me the money back as it is a no show.
I kindly ask again to the management to review my situation as I feel treated dishonestly. You were aware they I only wanted one room, you didn’t prepare a second room for me (only one key provided) and I mentioned this problem already several times to you.
