I'm going to write a review about 아베베 베이커리. I really wanted to try their bread, and recently they got another store in Seoul, so I got there right away. There are much cream bread there, but I would like to talk about 우도 땅콩 크림 도너츠 and 산방산 고구마 크림 도너츠 because it was the best. 우도 땅콩 도넛 is a chewy cream donut with peanut toppings from Udo island and 산방산 고구마 크림 도넛 is soft deep potato cream donut with Castella powder outside. Both of the menu was so not too greasy or sweet and its ingredients were in good harmony. Also, I liked that the bread had a perfect balance of sweetness and the cream filing melts in the mouth, leaving a rich and satisfying flavor. Because the place was popular, there was some waiting, but there was a large café space on 2nd and 3rd floor so it was relaxing. I would like to give some tips for you. If you keep the bread cold in the refrigerator and then eat it, the cream becomes chewier. Also, after freezing, turn it in an air fryer for a while, then the bread becomes crispy and the cream tastes like ice cream. As I mentioned before, it was a little crowded there and some waiting, so visit there when you have enough time. There are many different types of bread there, and it's often refilled, so get the flavor...

There's a line queuing before 10:30am when the place opens. I was in line about 15mins to get inside.

The cream donuts are made from rice flour, marked by the chewy texture of the dough. Not sure what the cream filling is made of. It's not super sweet, and it has the airy consistency of whipped cream cheese. The garlic donut filling looks and tastes like softened garlic butter but slightly sweet (the idea of eating that much butter was off-putting for me).

They package each donut individually in a resealable tape-sealed bag.

The donuts are delicious and quite filling. I was stuffed by donut 2. They pair well with an unsweetened Americano (not from the bakery). I picked sweet potato, earl grey, black sesame, red bean, and green tea creme donuts; and 1 garlic savory bread donut.

Also beware that their paper bag (which is more of a shopping bag from a high end department store) costs 2900KRW. Bring your own plastic bag from a convenience store if you're cheap like me 😂.

They only take orders to-go (no seating available).

5 cream donuts + 1 bread donut + 1 bag = 19200KRW ($15 USD)

Overall: delicious and worth the experience. Highly...

If you love the cream donut and cream bread, here are the places that you should try.

6 Nov 2024, visit 5.20pm a lot of choices and not a long line. The milk cream bread (3,600₩) was a thick cream with tteok and redbean inside.

14 Oct 2024, I tried the green tea cream donut(3,100₩). It's soft and, yes, a real green tea cream.

12 Oct 2024 The almond breeze cream(3,500₩) was good, coating with chocolate outside and a lot of cream inside, rice cake mugwort cream bread(4,300₩) was good and red bean bun with omegi (3,500₩) was something different taste. Ice Rooibos caramel tea (4,200₩) was a tea bag. If it is hot, it would be much better with bread cause the bread is heavy taste. A...

If your dessert heart still skips beats — Abebe Bakery in Seoul might just be to blame. Their matcha red bean cream doughnut? Absolutely divine, and very nearly sinful. From first sight, it's a beauty: the outer shell is tender and softly crisp, giving way to an inner swirl of silky green-tea cream laced with sweet red bean paste. The matcha lends a whisper of earthy bitterness that balances the richness, while the red bean adds that classic Korean sweetness and texture contrast. Every bite is plush, layered, and intensely satisfying — just the kind of indulgence you’ll remember. And don’t be surprised if you find yourself quietly wishing you’d ordered two.
