This is a hostel and not a hotel and our first time in a hostel. That being said it was not bad at all. All 8 rooms are located on one floor. There is a very small elevator which 2 people and one large suitcase can barely fit on but it was fun, you have to close the doors yourself when you get on and off or the elevator does not work. The room and hallway and entrance were very clean. Very basic room with 2 single beds, a desk and chair, 3 shelf's for stuff and night stand, TV and free wifi that was just OK. Bathroom shower stall similar to a cruise ship .Mattresses were foam but firm and comfortable. There is no breakfast, just a small room with a small fridge and table if you want to bring something in to eat. The location was great , on a busy street but we did not hear any traffic in our room and we were right on the street. Walking distance to Placa Cataluña and La Rambla. . The desk staff are very nice and helpful with getting cabs, tickets and directions. And oh yes, there is a very nice lady in the hotel lobbly who is there for security and who does not speak English. But she really tried to help tell you not to leave your luggage unattended and directions. For a hostel it really was not bad if you can live with just the basics, no frills, and...
Read moreWe stayed in Hostal Barcelona Centro as a family with 2 kids in a triple room that fit us super well. Space is good (not small at all). Room is clean and the whole place smells nice. No fridge in the room but there is a big one for the use of all where each room has a box with the room number. We were not bothered to use the common fridge. There is a nice living room with a tv, computer, coffed machine for 1€ and a kettle for hot water. People here are super friendly and helpful. And to add it all, the location is a great one, in the middle of everything! It is close to all that is interesting in Barcelona and busses and metro stations are all around us. We like to shop from Carrefour and there is one just 10 min walk (in La Rambla). The Cortes Ingles is 5 min walk also. Avoid the small supermarkets that open 24/24 unless you really need to. There is also a good supermarket just on the parallel road towards sagrada. We loved a small bakery on the corner of the road towards passeig de Garcia, fresh baguette and sandwiches. We would definitely recommend this place and would stay again when we are back...
Read moreThis is the most horrible hostel I have ever stayed. The service of the hostel is very bad. Me and my friends have ordered a Deluxe room with 3 single bed. In reality we got a room with 1 single bed and 1 double bed. We tried to talk with the admin of the hostel why pictures don't coincide with reality - we got a response that the hostel has so many problems and those are old pictures. I tried to contact the manager of the hostel but got only silence in return. How is it possible that paying such huge amount of money for the stay the customer get cheated with the wrong fotos for accommodation and when the customer has an issue, he is just being ignored? I will never recommend this hostel! Never! If you won't get cheated, I recommend to avoid...
