The Venue Steakhouse — Restaurant in Barcelona

ביקורת בעברית למטה... The review was written while sitting in a restaurant! We placed a phone order before arriving at a restaurant which is a 6 minute walk from L2. When we entered the restaurant we were greeted by a gracious and smiling staff who sat us down in a clean and tidy table. The atmosphere in the restaurant is of a very happy neighborhood restaurant with a very kind and professional wait staff. When you sit down at the waiter's table, he goes to the table with a meat tray and explains every part of the menu. I ordered the chunk of tomahawk (I was offered to cut it by the chef and I did) with an extra chip and my wife ordered spaghetti bolognese. The meat came just as much dipped in salt on a hot stone tray that allows you to cook the meat a little more if you like. The meat comes with three guns: zimzuri, whiskey sauce and pepper cream sauce (all three are great!) The spaghetti bolognese comes with a parmesan on the side. Great dish and very tasty! For dessert we ordered the ice cream which although not made in place was still very tasty with maple sauce over and whipped cream. In terms of price the meal cost the couple € 112.20 but well worth the investment !! The bottom line is a highly recommended and high quality restaurant. It is a must for anyone visiting Barcelona to go eat it!הביקורת נכתבה בזמן הישיבה במסעדה! ביצענו הזמנה טלפונית לפני הגעה למסעדה שממוקמת 6 דקות הליכה מL2. שנכנסנו למסעדה קיבלו את פנינו צוות אדיב וחייכן שהושיב אותנו תוך דקה בשולחן נקי ומסודר. האווירה במסעדה היא של מסעדה שכונתית ושמחה מאוד עם צוות מלצרים מאוד אדיב ומקצועי. כאשר מתיישבים בשולחן המלצר ניגש לשולחן עם מגש בשרים ומסביר על כל נתח שיש בתפריט. אני הזמנתי את נתח הטומהוק (הציעו לי לחתוך אותו ע"י השף וכך עשיתי) עם תוספת לציפס ואישתי הזמינה ספגטי בולונז. הבשר הגיעה בדיוק במידה הרצויה מטובל רק במלח על מגש של אבן חמה שמאפשרת לבשל את הבשר עוד טיפה אם אתם רוצים. הבשר מגיע עם שלושה רובים: צימיצורי, רוטב ויסקי ורוטב שמנת פלפל ( שלושתם מעולים!) הספגטי בולונז מגיע עם פרמז'ן בצד. מנה מעולה וטעימה מאוד! לקינוח הזמנו את הגלידה שלמרות שלא עשויה במקום עדיין הייתה טעימה מאוד עם רוטב מייפל מעל וקצפת. מבחינת המחיר הארוחה עלתה לזוג 112.20 € אבל שווה את ההשקעה!! בשורה התחתונה מסעדה מאוד מומלץ ואיכותית. חובה לכל מי שמבקר בברצלונה...

To anyone who’s thinking about eating here this was what I posted 10 months ago .

I was polite with my complaint ( below ) but received a very nasty and untrue response from the owner which I thought really poor , extremely rude , vicious and clearly they had no idea what they were talking about .

This was the review I posted .

After reading good reviews I was extremely disappointed with the quality of the food . My starter was over cooked and my fillet steak full of sinews. I politely mentioned this at the end of the meal, not looking for any money back but just to give polite feedback.The owner was aggressive with her response which was totally unacceptable. I would not eat here again !!!

This is what actually happened.

Having taken a weekend break to spend time with my son who works overseas I was of course delighted to spend time with him ( as always )

I wasn’t miserable throughout the meal ( as the owner stated in their response) but was in a lot of pain , my back constantly going into spasms , I was doing my best not to show the pain I was in so as not to spoil the evening .

Having returned home the following day , I was driving into work when the pain in my back became unbearable. I immediately ended up in hospital, had an MRI scan and the result I had a bulging disc.

Thankfully 8 weeks ago I was operated on , no more pain .

Just wanted to update my review as my understanding was that a review helps both customers and owners and I’ve never received such an appalling response before or since ( I don’t doubt I’ll receive another vile response and be threatened to involve the police again !!)

I hope this helps as I don’t object to paying good money for great food but if I can cook it better myself that’s when I feel I should post an honest review as I did of my experience in the Venue Steakhouse, Barcelona.

Simply one of the best steaks I have ever had the pleasure of eating!

I was looking to enjoy a steak while on a short break in Barcelona. While looking for recommendations, The Venue Steakhouse piqued my interest.

On arrival, I was greeted with a friendly waitress and ushered to a table. Once seated, we shown the cuts of steak on offer. I took a liking to the huge T-bone while my missus opted for the rib on the bone.

The steaks are served on a hot stone with a trio of sauces to compliment the meat with a side of your choosing.

The owner, showed us amazing hospitality by showing how to cut our steaks properly so we could take advantage of sizzling the meat on the hot stone to suit our individual taste.

The first bite of my steak knocked me out! My eyes closed, I took a deep breath and a smile formed on my face. The steak was juicy, tender, succulent and busting with flavour. I endured a 'foodgasm' right there and then! From the start to the end of my meal that smile never left my face.

I have been lucky enough to enjoy steak in many different places like New York, London, Phuket, Last Vegas, Paris and Amsterdam to name a few.

The steak at The Venue Steakhouse is one of the best steaks I have ever had period. Proper cuts of beef cooked with love and affection for the craft.

I am a 'foodie' at heart, so no matter how great the ambience of a restaurant is, all that matters is how good the food is. From street stalls to high end restaurants, the food is always king in my book, everything else is simply complimentary.

I honestly cannot recommend The Venue Steakhouse highly enough. If you appreciate a good steak you will not be disappointed! I will definitely be returning next time I am...
