Not a pleasant experience especially during our breakfast. First, we informed the hotel we would arrive very late during the night with 2 young children and needed a travel cot. After spending time to find the hotel entrance (they don’t tell you beforehand but the hotel is located in a pedestrian zone and you need to call to have access), we arrived at 1.15am and the travel cot was not in the room. But the worst was in the morning. We waited at the door of the breakfast room. A waiter was there, busy with setting up tables. He looked at us but did not come to welcome us or tell us what to do. At some point, we decided to enter and asked him if we could sit. We could see he was really busy and not really in the mind of helping us. Then I was looking for the buffet but could not find it. So I asked to a lady, with my rusty Spanish, where I could find the food. She was really unpleasant and replied it would be her bringing us the food and she did so, very abruptly and with no kindness at all. She did not ask if we wanted coffee, tea, juice etc … she just put some food on our table without asking what we wanted to eat. It was a 20€ breakfast with not even a juice or coffee. At check out, I was not even asked how my stay was. Overall, not a pleasant experience. I can understand the hospitality industry is under pressure with less people working but it does not excuse bad manners. All they had to say was they were really busy and kindly asked us to wait instead of not communicating to us and leaving us no choice but to ask them things. Definitely not a 4* hotel...
Read moreHow this hotel got 4 stars is beyond comprehension. 2 stars would be generous. Decided to stay here travelling from the UK to our house in Southern Spain big mistake hotel is hard to find satnav only directing to exit only gate from the old city. Room very disappointing, dirty and two electric sockets had covers lying on the floor which represented a huge safety risk. Bathroom the smallest I have ever experienced, shortage of towels and bidet out of use owing to plug being jammed down outlet. As in transit just wanted a evening meal and sleep. Amazed that restaurant closed and being told that no food was available. Asked reception for an Italian restaurant and were given four restaurants nearby every one was closed so much for reception knowing the area. We ended up walking the streets in below freezing temperatures trying to find somewhere to eat. The next morning breakfast was a total disgrace with dried up cheeses and stale bread, coffee was only available so strong you could creosote a fence with it. Mentioned by email my complaints to the hotel which was ignored. On second request received an extremely rude response stating that their housekeeping was not responsible for faults in the room and it was up to me to report them. Also it was the hotels perogative to decide if they would feed their guests. Overthe last 20 years we have stayed at over 100 4star hotels in Spain and this without doubt is the worst. Please do not stay...
Read moreOne star for a great location and another for the cleanliness of the room. I would not recommend for anyone that’s looking for a place to rest.
As some reviews comments the rooms are a bit outdated, but that’s what you pay for. What I cannot comprehend is how a 4 star hotel can be so noisy - not from the other rooms but from the waiters, the kitchen and any party that’s taking place in the function room. After putting up with the noise from what I assume is chairs (constantly) being dragged over the stone floors and the kitchen staff working and throwing out glass bottles, we finally had enough when at 1am a disco started up. They might as well have placed the bed in the middle of the dance floor, that’s how poorly soundproofed the building is. The reception tried to help but it was clear they couldn’t do much and there was no possibility to change to another room. Just to add to the insomnia the curtains are not wide enough to block out the light from...
