Having visited Jerez many times, I’ve often walked past Hotel Sherry Park and admired how beautiful it looks from the outside. This time, I finally booked a two-night weekend break, and I’m so glad I did! The price was excellent, really good value for half board, and since we booked direct, parking was included, which is fab!||The hotel absolutely lived up to expectations. Our room was lovely, spotlessly clean, and overlooked the pool with a balcony that caught the afternoon shade, perfect for relaxing. The beds were super comfortable, the towels soft and fluffy, and we really appreciated the free safe, and generously sized mini fridge/bar.||The pool area is just wow. The gardens are immaculate and so well maintained. Sunbeds were plentiful, high quality, and really comfy, with lots of parasols. The pool itself was pristine, and while we didn’t use the indoor pool this time, it looked fantastic! We’re saving that for our next visit!||We enjoyed the pool bar, which had plenty of shaded seating and a nice selection of drinks and snacks. We shared a sandwich mixto with chips, perfect for a light lunch, especially with a cold beer.||Breakfast was great, with plenty of choices, including breads, cold meats, fruit, and a chef on hand for fresh eggs or omelettes. |Dinner was a buffet with a wide variety of hot and cold options. Everything was fresh and tasty, with a chef preparing meat and fish to order. Lovely desserts, too!||Now, a small issue:|I was told at check-in (and again at the restaurant) that drinks aren’t included with half board. That’s fine. It’s standard usually, but being reminded twice felt a bit unnecessary. The real disappointment was that wine isn’t available by the glass in the buffet restaurant. The wine list only included half and full bottles and at rather inflated prices. For example, a 37.5cl bottle of Tierra Blanca Seco was around €10—yet I can buy a full bottle in any supermarket for around €4.50. As a couple who like different wines and only wanted one glass with dinner, this was frustrating.||To be fair, the staff were fantastic and kindly brought us a glass of wine each, likely from the lobby bar, which does offer wine by the glass. They truly went above and beyond, we would have been fine skipping wine altogether, but their thoughtfulness stood out.||That said, I suspect the great value of the half board may rely somewhat on the drinks pricing.||Overall, this is a stunning hotel with excellent staff who can’t do enough for you. We’re already looking at our calendar for our next visit, can’t...
Read moreFantastic 4* hotel with were very helpful staff (especially at the front desk). The room was big and very clean with a decent balcony. The only room issues were: the lack of a coffee machine, which is sort of required in any decent hotel these days (having the balcony with a relaxing view of the lovely garden and no way to sit with a coffee in the morning or evenings and enjoy it was a pain); also having 2 single beds put together, no matter how big they are, is not ideal. |The Vermuteria restaurant was a lovely place to relax and had good food and drink but there are lots of great eateries and bars near and far in Jerez so maybe that's why it was a bit quiet. |It's not a long walk to the old town but there are also plenty of very nice local bars/restaurants in the barrios around the hotel well worth exploring.|The pool is very good, was never too busy, was quite big and has a fab bar for snacks and lunch. There were, however, a few issues with the pool area: quite a few guests just seemed to put their towels on the recliners first thing in the morning and disappear for hours, which was a bit rude; there were also no smoking, no glass bottles/glasses and no diving rules which nobody seemed to pay any attention to. |Even with those few gripes, however, we would...
