Hotel Jerez Centro — Hotel in Jerez

We booked this hotel as it would accept a 1 night booking around a national holiday whereas more central hotels wouldn’t. It’s an attractive 4* hotel so on paper, should have had a better offering than the two (much cheaper) 3* ones we’d previously stayed at in Jerez & Cadiz. Location-wise, it’s a bit away from the centre, it’d be a good choice if you wanted a base for the Equestrian School. The reception staff were spot-on, very helpful and friendly. The breakfast (extra €9) was glorious, much better than the usual continental offering of processed ham & plastic cheese. Everything hot and cold you could imagine was available from a regularly replenished self-serve buffet, and the food was good quality. |I’ve marked the hotel as a 3 because of the bedroom. As we entered via the keycard, we were hit with a foul smell of sewers / drains which only lessened when the bathroom door was closed. We were only there for one night for an early flight the next day, otherwise would have had to move room. As it was, we had an outdoor terrace overlooking the street at the front so escaped the smell there. There’s no way the staff aren’t aware of this as the bathroom window had been left open. Aside from the smell, the bathroom was small, old fashioned & in need of a refurb. The room was poorly laid out with dead zones but little room for manoeuvre. There was a run of 3 windows in the room with the far one overlooking the adjoining room’s terrace! The windows and terrace wall were not lined up. Disappointing and Overrated

Apart from its central location, this hotel has little to offer. The 4-star rating seems completely exaggerated. The entire place feels stuck in the 1980s — the rooms are worn-out and in dire need of renovation. Furnishings include a dated mini-fridge and an enormous oak wall unit straight out of another era.

The worst part by far was the non-functioning air conditioning. The room felt like it was 40 degrees Celsius, making it impossible to get any sleep. To make matters worse, there wasn’t even a bottle of water provided in the room.

Overall, a complete disaster — extremely disappointing, especially coming from a well-known hotel chain.

After complaining at 3:00 AM, we were at least given some water — free of charge. We were also moved to a room in the “premium” category. Unfortunately, it turned out to be just as bad as the first one. The only real difference is that this room has a window that can be opened for ventilation, whereas the previous room only had a window facing an inner courtyard, making it extremely stuffy.

Sadly, the new room faces the main street and is located on the second floor. The noise from the cobblestone road and heavy traffic outside is so loud that it’s still impossible to get any sleep. So here we are —...

El hotel esta situado en el centro de Jerez. Su ubicación es inmejorable y permite tener todo al alcance de la mano. El edificio es precioso con su fachada conservada y cuidada. Estuvimos dos noches por motivos de una boda en la ciudad. El lobby de entrada sorprende con respecto a la fachada. Es un lobby muy amplio y espacioso pero decorado dando impresión de hace años sin haber modernizado el concepto. Tiene una zona de sillones de colores que podría ser mejorada por unos sillones y una iluminación estratégicamente colocada. El lobby podría renovarse con algún laminado suave estilo Danés, una zona bar a la derecha moderna y unos sillones en colores crema suave. Es un espacio muy amplio pero regular el diseño que impacta con esa fachada señorial ( un toque de señorío le mejoraría el aspecto pues es la primera Impresión que se lleva el huésped). Al fondo se encuentra una sala que está desaprovechada y que podría incluirse en el gran espacio de la recepción. A mano izquierda los ascensores a los cuales se accede por unas escaleras y en el caso de tener maleta tienes q recorrer por detrás de ellos para acceder a los mismos. Recomendaría eliminar esas escaleritas poco funcionales y construir una rampa de acceso a los ascensores en su lugar. Las habitaciones son pequeñas y destaca por la escasa iluminación. Dos lamparas de mesilla y una lámpara de pie alta iluminaban la estancia. Recomendaría mejorar la iluminación en las habitaciones con luces halogenos por el techo bien distribuidos. El baño destaca por ser pequeño y un mobiliario poco funcional. La bañera tiene una ubicación muy alta y con un acceso muy difícil ( mis padres les costaría mucho acceder a la bañera), recomendaría cambiar la bañera por platos de ducha más funcionales en el mismo espacio, sin que haya que levantar las piernas mucho para acceder a ellos y además más fáciles de limpiar y mantener. El retrete le pasaba similar, esta muy alto colocado en la pared, me colgaban las piernas mientras estaba sentado ( y mido 178). Bajaría la altura a la que está colocado el retrete. El bidé en mi opinión sobra y se está retirando de los baños de todos los hoteles, si se retirara ganaría espacio el baño. La iluminación del baño aceptable de cara a prepararse para una boda ( pintarse maquillarse y peinarse), el secador de pelo si recomiendo que llevéis uno vuestro propio. Así mismo el aire acondicionado se regular desde la centralita porque lo que la rueda de la habitación no sirve para regular. Para los 38 grados que pasamos en jerez el fin de semana el aire estaba flojo. La zona de desayuno se encuentra en la planta -1, es una zona oscura para desayunar y está al lado del parking. Creo que estaría mejor si la hicieran en el lobby y aprovecharan ese espacio. La verdad que el hotel tiene mucho potencial y creo que podrían tomar como referencia el Hotel Palacio de Tondon de AC hoteles o algún marriot, o algún hotel level de melia como el de sevilla porque la fachada es preciosa y el interior desmerece un poco a la misma. Añadiría que un punto de distinción sería que tuviera piscina bien una rooftop o una interior. Jerez destaca por calor y hubiera estado bien tener esa piscina. Si se consigue una rooftop se podría ofertar brunch por el día y copas en terraza rooftop por la noche en pleno centro de jerez, nada que envidiar a la sala de copas Kapote, y daría...
