Pizzeria La Roma — Restaurant in Jerez

We were staying in a hotel in Jerez for a few nights and we wanted something that was close by and better value than the hotel. We saw this place and we were not disappointed. The menu has a very authentic Italian feel to it. As does the wood burning pizza oven. The large windows give the place an appealing look and you enjoy a good view of the street. There is a very authentic feel to the entire place, from the menu to the way the staff are dressed. We felt transported from Southern Spain to some place in Italy! The portions are very generous and the value for money we rated as excellent. We probably over ordered even though we just had one pizza each. They kindly gave us a takeaway box so we could enjoy the pizza the following day...

Fuimos a comer 5 personas, las 22:20 de la noche del miércoles. Siendo clientes habituales y habiendo ido innumerosas veces. Nos atiende un camarero con una coleta(Chiad creo que se llama, no estoy segura). Con una actitud bastante chulesca y molesto,le repito mi hamburguesa dos veces ya que iba sin queso y sin varios ingredientes y por la actitud que llevaba sabía que no lo había apuntado bien. Una de las pizzas que pedimos, ni la apuntó, y las otras dos, no le añadió el cheddar. Le pedimos queso en polvo para los espaguetis carbonara y nos mira con mala cara y desafiante. La hamburguesa efectivamente me viene con queso, siendo alérgica y el pollo rosa, poco hecho, estando embarazada no lo puedo comer poco hecho, y su respuesta es: Pues no te la pidas, en ese momento me entró ganas de levantarme e irme, pero no lo hicimos por el otro camarero alto que las poquitas veces que nos atendió lo hizo de maravilla. Mientras comíamos nos miraba sin parar de nuevo con cara desafiante y nos sentimos bastante incómodos, siendo uno de nuestros lugares favoritos, pero con este tipo de persona se te quitan las ganas de volver a ir. Soy camarera y llevo bastantes años en la hostelería y sé lo que es pero para trabajar de cara al público hay que dejar la mochila en casa y tener más simpatía y saber estar. No estoy a favor de que siempre los clientes lleven la razón, pero en este caso siendo hostelera tuve bastante aguante. Espero que a nadie más le pase. Perhaps strange hunting out an Italian restaurant in Andalusia.... but I found online that it has a great gluten free menu. It certainly has! Well worth the 25 minute walk from our hotel in the centre of Jerez. The food was delicious, and the gf choice phenomenal. The owner's son is coeliac so they know the importance, they have a separate kitchen to prepare the gf food. There was also a great choice for my non gf partner who agreed that this was the best meal we had had in 10 days...
