Carretas Apartments — Hotel in Madrid

I booked this place for a mini trip which was a gift for my mom's anniversary. It was not the cheapest option, but location was worth that (right behind Sol square).

We were 4 people and we had 2-bedroom apartment with mini balcony, that was facing street. Apartment was located on 3d floor in an old but pretty building, which surprisingly had elevator (Can't imagine hard work they went through to install there).

Every room had a double bed with comfortable pillows. The only window that was big, was the one facing main street. In eve, when we didn't want to hear busy crowds, closing window would solve this problem. ACs in every room were available too. Living room had sofa and tv which we enjoyed during euro2024 night.

The kitchen had all necesarry kitchiniette. The vase for flowers was missing but we improvised. I want to mention that apartment was extremely clean. We had a few pair of keys which made our life easier. Internet was sometimes bad, but once I informed Jose (manager), in some hours he came to fix it. Jose was available through whatsapp and gave necesarry advice when needed.

Big appartenant, very central, but have some problems with noise , There is 24 h restaurant just below, not sound proofed. at all so you hear everything in the apartment from the other apartments. Very noisy, furniture moving etc. Sound of buzzer all night can be heard in the bedroom. Shower needs renovation, sometimes foul smell from sewer in the bathroom. This place needs to be renovated and the owners know it. Has good potential. We've been twice and the first time some years ago was very good.it is sad that it is no longer the case. Bad...

Creo que es la primera vez que escribo para mal una reseña, y no sin motivos. Este fin de semana pasado (26 a 28 de septiembre), teniamos planes por madrid y contratamos este apartamento con booking. Sobre las 2 de la tarde estando en el ave, aviso con la hora aproximada de nuestra llegada para que pudieran recepcionarnos. La persona encargada de ello me responde diciendo que tiene mucho trabajo, que estoy en la lista de prioridades y que me avisaría en cuanto pudieramos alojarnos. Pasa 1 h y media de nuestra llegada a madrid les vuelvo a escribir (ya que teniamos planes e ibamos con una niña de 8 años, con maletas y demas), tardan en contestar y nos dicen que tienen mucho trabajo, que ahora nos atienden. Al rato, llamo a la pficina del lugar y les insisto para saber cuando nos queda, ya que llevabamos 3 h en la puerta del apartamento sin casi respuesta. Vuelvo a escribir, y nos comentan que tienen que reubicarnos, en otra zona mas lejana y a las 18:40, sin ningun tipo de explicacion. Llamamos al responsable y no nos dan ninguna solucion, simplemente que nos llamarian en 10 min. Estuvimos esperando y volvimos a llamar, y la respuesta fue nula, porque no nos cogieron el telefono. Nos dejaron en mitad de madrid, sin lugar donde dormir y sin explicaciones, con una niña de 8 años. Gracias a booking pudimos resolverlo, despues de 5 llamadas y 5 horas en la calle sin tener soluciones.... no los volveria a contratar ni aunque fuera gratuito. (Con pruebas de todo lo...
