What to say about the hotel Riu Bravo/ Riu Playa Park?? It is important to note that this hotel was not booked by us, but we were "forced" to stay in this hotel of a lower category. We booked the Riu Playa Park hotel over 5 months ago, a few days before our arrival we even received an email for online check-in for the Riu Playa Park hotel - at that time there was no indication that the reservation for that hotel would be canceled by Group Rio. When arriving at the Riu Playa Park hotel, an unpleasant situation arose where we were told that the reservation was canceled and that we were accommodated in another hotel, called Riu Bravo, but that the hotel was almost identical and not to worry, in addition to that, we were offered everything from side of Riu Playa Park so they can pay us a taxi to the new hotel! The hotel is located a street away, taxi payment????Disgusting by Hotel Riu Playa Park. When arriving at Rio Bravo, it is immediately apparent that the hotel is not even close to similar, let alone identical. When we tried to contact the reception, everyone was throwing the ball at Riu Playa Park, and Riu Playa Park gave us a phone number to call, so none of the hotels knew why the reservation was canceled . During the phone call, the gentleman from the Call Center sent me a little to the Riu Bravo reception, and a little to the Riu playa park reception - BUT STILL EVERYONE WASHING THEIR HANDS OF CANCELING THE RESERVATION. That after 1 hour of sitting on the phone they would tell me to call the same number the next day and that I would get the person who canceled my reservation?!?! Shameful!!!!!!!! In addition to all that, the manager of the Riu Playa Park hotel stated that I am currently talking to a person from Mexico, and the number is Spanish HAHHAHAHA. Last year we were also in Mallorca in a 4-star hotel that you can look up to - because it deserves 5 stars. We received neither an apology, nor a discount nor anything by way of apology from the entire Rio team. Once again, I mention the shameful behavior of a large group of hotels that I WILL NEVER COME TO AGAIN. The only positive thing about this hotel is the staff. The pools are greasy, dirty, the other pool is full of people - too much room capacity compared to the pool and sunbeds they have. But I guess that's thanks to the other hotels that fill this low-budget hotel. NEVER BOOK ACCOMMODATION...

I am currently staying at RIU Bravo in Palma de Mallorca, and this experience has been extremely disappointing from the moment I arrived. The hotel hides behind the well-known RIU name and reputation, but the reality here is completely different — poor service, misleading advertising, and a shocking lack of hospitality.
They promote themselves as an “all-inclusive” resort, but that is far from the truth. Many of the things guests naturally expect to be included simply aren’t. The overall quality of service and amenities does not match what RIU represents.
To make matters worse, yesterday was my birthday, and it turned into one of the most uncomfortable experiences I’ve had while traveling. The air conditioning in my room stopped working, and when I contacted reception, their only response was: “You’ll have to wait until tomorrow — just use the fan in your room.” There was no sense of urgency, empathy, or effort to resolve the problem.
Later that evening, I tried to request room service or at least some water, but was told there is no room service at this hotel. My room phone didn’t work, so I went downstairs in person to ask for water. The front desk staff pointed me to a small room beside the lobby, saying that’s where I could get it. Inside, there was only a water dispenser with plastic cups, and when I picked one up, I found a lipstick stain on a “clean” cup. That was the final straw — completely unacceptable for any hotel, let alone one under the RIU name.
The atmosphere also isn’t as advertised. The hotel caters mostly to elderly guests, which drastically changes the energy and experience. I have nothing against that, but it’s something that should be clearly communicated before booking.
Overall, this property is a disgrace to the RIU brand. Between the false “all-inclusive” promise, broken amenities, lack of service, and poor hygiene, it’s nowhere near the standard people expect when booking with RIU. My stay here has been frustrating, disappointing, and far from enjoyable.
I would strongly advise future guests to think twice before booking RIU Bravo. What they advertise online and what you actually experience in person are two completely...
Read moreWe've stayed in Riu hotels a lot so selected this one because we've always had a good experience in these hotels, sadly this time it was quite disappointing. Firstly it is not under any circumstances All Inclusive, yes the food is included but the drinks are limited - ok, we knew that when we booked, we are allowed 3 alcoholic drinks with lunch and 3 with dinner BUT these drinks are only served in the restaurants, you can only have red/white/rose wine and have no choice of what type (sweet/dry etc), its just bog standard local wine - we wanted to order a nice Rioja and they didn't have any or any other wine to choose even if we were prepared to pay. The only other option is beer or soft drinks and again only available in the restaurant. No cocktails, no spirits - they all cost extra. There are soft drink dispensers so you can get sprite/coke etc but on several occasions the machines were out of action and when we went to the bar and ordered soft drinks we had to pay.||The second reason we selected this hotel was that it has an indoor swimming pool. When we asked at reception what time it opened they said November! Apparently this pool is only open in the winter months (beginning in November)! When I checked on their website it says 'temporary closed' now that implies generally its available but at the moment its closed (for maintenance etc) NOT that its not available until November. We found this completely misleading and were very unhappy that we could not use the indoor pool in October - how were we supposed to know it wasn't available?||The area the hotel is in is great however most tourists in this hotel are German, there were large numbers of drunk noisy football fans in the bars around the hotel in the evenings (and sometime daytime) which didn't give the place a great feel.||On the plus side the food was excellent, the staff were all very friendly, it was well maintained and clean.||Would we go back to this hotel? Absolutley not, it did not live up to our expectations, we felt we had been mislead by their advertising and didn't get the 'all inclusive' that we've received in all the other Riu hotels...
