Massilia — Restaurant in Palma

Utter disappointment.

We arrived at this place excited for the extensive menu options , however we quickly realised moments after sitting down we felt the rush and stress of the staff.

We ordered a starter and two mains plus a glass of cava and a caipifresa.

The starter was a plate of fried squid,prawns and baby squid.

Dry,tasteless to the point we drowned the dish with lemon, salt and pepper - it did the job.

We hoped then the main and drinks wouldn’t disappoint also , we were wrong.

The caipifresa tasted mouldy, which is just bizarre, they came to our table with some attitude asking what the problem is when we complained.

They offered to exchange for another drink we opted for cava again to avoid further disappointment.

The main dishes arrived… And once again to our disappointment we were served a plate of pasta which was bitter/sour, had a strong smell that we understood was out of date.

We were also served a plate of sirloin steak (medium rare) with potatoes and veg. The meat was burnt,stringy and not medium rare as requested. The potatoes were also dry and burnt with a fishy taste which again is bizarre for a meat dish.

After informing the staff, they took no notice or apologised, simply took our full and unfinished plates away and came back with the bill just for the cava and starter.

This place has no care or attention for its customers or what health consequences this can have by serving this food and service.

Utterly disgusted, and disappointed. I don’t recommend you eat here, but good...

Worst experience I had ever in a restaurant. I was excited to try this restaurant but it was a downfall. I ordered a strawberry caipirinha and it tasted mouldy, I explained to one of the waiters and I think he didn't understand what I said because he simply took the drink back (I even told him to try it). A minute later another waiter came and asked what was the problem and I explained once again that the drink tasted mouldy. He replied saying that's the taste of cachaça, but I know what cachaça tastes and something was wrong with the drink. Then it came the dish, I ordered a fettuccine with salmon and "lucky" me it was out of date, the pasta was overcooked, it tasted sour exactly like when food goes bad. I left my plate full, asked for the bill and complained to the waiter that the food was not eatable. He listened and didn't even say a word. After 2 complaints for terrible service, they didn't apologize not even once. That's the basics of customer service, apologize and show that you care. What's even more concerning is that the person that cooked that meal was able to send it to table. I'm pretty sure he knew the food was out of date, because the smell was very strong. How can you call yourself a cook when you do that? You can't play with someone's health like that. NEVER AGAIN and I don't recommend this...

Der Urlaub ist jetzt leider schon wieder 2 Wochen her. Aber eins war unvergesslich, im negativen Sinne: Wir waren Freunden im Urlaub und wollten den Abend mit den Kindern am Strand von Palma verbringen und auch dort essen. Wir hatten uns kein Lokal ausgesucht und wollten das spontan machen. Mir war relativ egal was wir essen, es findet sich ja immer etwas auf der Karte was einem zusagt. Die Wahl viel dann auf Massilia aus folgenden Gründen: angenehme Lautstärke einladende Optik des Ambiente es waren noch Tische frei es gab Spaghetti Carbonara (Wunsch eines Kindes es gab Chicken Nuggets (Wunsch des anderen Kindes) günstige Preise der Speisen (war nicht meine Vorraussetzung)

Wir durften uns setzen, wurden freundlich bedient, der Tisch war sauber, angrenzendes Geländer, auf welches ich zwangsweise meinen Arm ablegen wollte, leider nicht, es klebte. Vermutlich Bier. Die Stühle sehen schön aus, empfand ich aber als unbequem. Ich hätte da keine 2 Stunden drauf verbracht.

Ich hatte mich für das Hausgericht entschieden. Sollte ja gut sein. Ein Schnitzel mit "gegrillten" Zwiebeln und Spiegelei (in Brauhaus ist dies ein Braumeister Schnitzel). Dazu etwas Salat und Fritten. Getränk meiner Wahl war ein halber San Miguel aus dem Fass.

Wie man auf den Fotos sehen kann, war das Schnitzel so dünn gekloppt dass man den Sonnenuntergang dadurch hätte beobachten können. Dafür aber die Panade so dick und hart dass man mit den stumpfen Messern den Sonnenuntergang verpasst hätte. Die Fritten hatte. 3ine qußergewöhnliche Form, so wie Dachrinnen. Der Geschmack ging aber in Ordnung, die Menge mau, aber das entsprach vielleicht dem Preis. Mein Bierglas war außen schmutzig, kein Bild da ich es mir der Serviette sofort entfernt hatte. Ich beschwere mich ungern beim Personal. Das sollte ich vielleicht zum Leidwesen meiner Frau ändern. Das Bier schmeckte auch ungewöhnlich bitter und es sprudelte schön im Glas. Was soll ich sagen, ich war mir dann nichtmal sicher ob es San Miguel war oder die das Glas sauber gemacht haben. Vermutlich ja, aber mit schmutzigem Wasser. Ich hab das Bier nicht ausgetrunken. Den Salat habe ich auch nicht angepackt, weil der Rest so "gut" war. Ich wollte keinen möglichen Durchfall riskieren.

Meine Frau hatte eine Vorspeise als Hauptgericht bestellt. Ist auf dem Bild zu sehen. Die Oliven hatten ihr nicht geschmeckt (sie isst gern Oliven), der Käse auf dem Brot lag offensichtlich schon einige Zeit an der frischen Luft und war dementsprechend an den Seiten trocken, hart und dunkel. Sie hat es auch stehen lassen.

Der Weißwein hatte ihr geschmeckt. Und meiner Tochter schmeckte der Cocktail aus Säften auch gut. Die früchte aus dem angegebenen Mix, könnte man zum Teil nicht erahnen.

Wer gut angeschwipst und hungrig ist, dem wird sowieso einiges davon egal sein, die Menschen werden sich hier vermutlich wohl fühlen.

Die Toiletten waren vorhanden, zu dem Zeitpunkt als wir da waren (früher Abend) auch noch relativ sauber, modern, hell, funktionstüchtig aber gut abgegriffen.

Ich habe gelernt: Ruf deine Malle erfahrenen Kollegen an, frag die, oder bestehe darauf länger zu suchen, besser auch in der zweiten Reihe hinter der Promenade. Und: freundlich um ein sauberes...
