I recently stayed at this hotel and would rate my experience 3 out of 5 stars. The hotel is quite old and clearly in need of renovation. The rooms reflect this as well; they feel outdated and were dusty upon arrival. My first room was located right next to a construction site, making it both noisy and dusty, which was very unpleasant. After raising my concerns, I was moved to a second room (extra cost), which was better. The gym was a major disappointment. It was small, and out of the three machines available, only one was functional—and even that one didn’t work properly. Similarly, my experience with the spa was frustrating. The spa staff seemed uninterested in their duties. I tried to book an appointment for a massage twice: the first time, the lady claimed she couldn’t work due to construction noise. When we rebooked for the next day, I ended up waiting for 40 minutes past my appointment time before giving up and leaving. The dining experience was mixed. While the breakfast was varied and delicious, dinner was average, and the carbonara I sauce was particularly disappointing—it was watery and didn’t resemble a proper carbonara at all. On a positive note, drinks were fairly priced, and there were evening shows, which added a nice touch to the overall experience. The standout part of my stay was the staff. The cleaning ladies were attentive and did a great job. Most of the staff were friendly and welcoming, which I appreciated. However, having stayed at other 4-star hotels for similar prices, I expected much more in terms of quality and service. Overall, this hotel didn’t meet the standards I’ve experienced elsewhere for the same cost.

Pros - friendly staff, great location, clean, well run pool Cons - not enough coffee machines, crowded dining room at breakfast, paying for all drinks, even water, at dinner time, can't even take your morning coffee outside after breakfast Overall a great couple of weeks staying here. Some notable staff that go the extra mile (i.e. Julian always patiently helped my teenage daughter with a dairy allergy to work out what she could eat). Annoying drinks rules & availability - we're just not used to paying for water. Food a bit repetitive but always plenty and a fair bit of choice - also lots of places to eat out nearby when you fancy a change. This is a quiet area and there are lots of older, mainly Spanish people, we felt quite young being in our late 40s with 2 teenagers do you won't like it here if you want to party. Not much problem with noise - one cafe out the front plays unnecessarily loud music to it's 3 customers til about 12 but it does stop and there's none of the drunken street singing you get all night down on the south of the island. Very little internal noise. Hired a car for a few days to visit other places on the island - there isn't loads to do locally except sunbathe, read and complain about the heat :D Considering the price, we're really pleased and had a nice time and would come back for a cheap week. A few niggles would make it even better.

Great hotel, great price and location. The pool area was spotless and the entertainment team were genuinely very enthusiastic and provided lots of great games. There is a show every night and a free bingo which we enjoyed. We did have two problems though: Once we were served a burger that was completely raw in the middle at dinner, we didn’t get ill from it but was definitely an issue. It wasn’t even rare but totally raw and cold. The food quality was generally good but there were some issues with things being undercooked which we did mention to the staff at the time. On occasion the staff didn’t know what meat was in some dishes that were just labelled ‘meat’. Also note that breakfast includes coffees, water and juices whilst if you are on a half or full board package you must pay for drinks at lunch and dinner. Not even tap water is included when they do serve it from a decanter at breakfast. Drinks were cheap, however a better selection of soft drinks at dinner like juices would have been appreciated. Lots of Canarian food to try too! Also the air conditioning in the room was preset and couldn’t be changed (we asked the front desk) so the room was always really hot. Otherwise a good place to stay in Puerto de la Cruz.

Ill start with the negatives |Hotel is tired looking and needs some attention . The decor is dated ,there is one lift that does not stop level with the floor , this is a major trip hazard and needs attention ASAP. |The dining room although nice amd big , it resembles a canteen there are no curtains or voils at the windows and no table clothes, every table we sat at was wobbly. The food was never hot unless you got it from the hotplate at the end where it is cooked in front of you . They do have a microwave but why should you have to reheat your food , again this is an environmental health issue and needs addressing, the lamps above the food are just lights they are not keeping the food hot . |Now let's talk about the staff in the dining room / pool bar , I have travelled extensively and I have never come across such miserable members of staff with the exception of maybe 2 or 3 , they dont smile , no conversation no greetings . |I ordered a canarian coffee from the pool bar it was ment to be made with condensed milk, lemon and cinnamon, what I ended up with was a flat white , I even pointed to it in the menu as her English wasn't good so she could see what I wanted. |This same woman told me off like I was a naughty school girl while I was sat on a sunbed drinking a can of coke , she was rude waggling her finger telling me in her broken English I could only drink my own drink in my room , there was no sign that I could see to state this until I saw her taking the lifeguard to the board on the opposite side of the pool area and pointing at it then looking at me , if they dont want people to drink their own drinks the sign should be on the bar not on the wall on the opposite side of the pool area, I never went to the pool again nor did I spend another euro in the hotel , so by her being so rude to me the hotel lost revenue as I would have bought cocktails and beers for my husband . |On arrival we had tea /coffee in our room we had a cup of tea but it was not replenished the whole week even though we asked at reception, our dirty teacups were not removed the entire time they were still there and dirty when we left on Tuesday. |The sheets were not changed the while week and under the bed was thick with dust and obviously had not been swept for some considerable time . |We were on the 11 floor with a sea view but the noise from the bar opposite was thudding until 11.30 so no sleep until it went off.|The grass area around the pool needs cutting .|Our balcony had a slope that was unnerving when your on floor 11 . |Now the positives. |The location is its selling point its right at the centre of the resort with beautiful views ,|The reception staff were always friendly and check in was quick and easy . |The sunbed rule is very good , no reserving beds and if you leave for more than half an hour the lifeguard gaurd will remove the towels and put them on his table . |Our room was clean although under the beds was not swept . |The beds were very comfortable , the room has air conditioning plus a ceiling fan . |Plenty of wardrobe space . |The salt water pools opposite the hotel are amazing and after my altercation at the pool we went there . Its 7 euros and worth every bit . |Would I return to this hotel NO | Nowhere near a...

Hotel`s location was excellent. located near the shops, sea and old town. All within walking distance. We booked a seaview with balcony on high floor so had a great view of the sea and the promenade! Great size too, with loads of cupboards with clothes hangers and place for your suitcases. It was north facing so the room was cool too! Air condition worked, didnt use the celing fan, but it seems they did the job.

Bathroom needed bit of work, the floor and the vent was chipping off in some places, but bearable. Only downfall was that the bedlinens was not changed even after 3 days, even told the reception and the cleaner on our floor to change it after our 4th night, but the bed linen wasnt changed. There was some hot humid nights, and felt our bed needed fresh clean sheets!!! Finally using google translate in spanish, I showed the cleaner on our floor to change the bed linen as it hasnt been changed for 4 nights! Not sure of their hygiene standards ... but they finally changed it on our 5th day so just be aware, they dont always change it as they say!!

The food on the 1st floor was adequate, nothing special, some days, it was good but it was hit and miss, but had good selection of salad, hot food, pizza, paella, pasta and deserts. The menu changed slightly everyday. I can see trying to please different nationalities and hundreds of ppl all at once can be challenging. Felt the restaurant staff needed to be bit more friendly too. Some was quite aggressive, and demand you order some drinks. Not sure if that is because its a commission based?!

Overall, Hotel was good, needed bit of uplifiting especially on the ground floor, by the bar/cafe area and needed work on big empty lounge space. looked bit bear. The layout of the ground floor needed re design. Felt the pool area also needed more space, the pool area got full before 11am on a good sunny day, so bit of madness trying to reserve your sunbeds!! Not a great view either, looking at nextdoor hotel and flats. Maybe the pool area needs to up grade as there was empty space next to the pool area, which looked like outside games area (No kids in the hotel so this space was bit of waste) This area could be turned into 2nd pool area or at least a garden area with more sun beds??

I think we would return again maybe in few years time, when these upgrades has been...

We recently stayed at the Las Vegas for 1 week and as others have stated, it is in a perfect location on the seafront. Our twin room with balcony had a great view over the pool/garden, surrounding town and mountains. Beds were very comfortable, no problem with late night noise so always slept well. Bathroom had an over bath shower and was a little dated but toiletries were provided, there was a very good hairdryer and both the bathroom and bedroom were kept spotless. Maid service came daily to tidy, make beds and change towels if needed, just leave them over the bath. |We were half board and found that there was anything and everything at the buffet style meals, plenty of choice, always a good selection of hot and cold foods. Cava and bloody Mary's at breakfast was certainly a nice touch. Never had a problem getting a sunbed but you did need to be early if you preferred one right by the pool. The pool bar was very reasonably priced, well stocked and the food was nice, served quickly with generous portions. Note that it closed at 6pm. There is table tennis, pool, giant chess and a stack of paperback books to pass the time. The general seating areas throughout the hotel were always kept clean and tidy and the seats were modern. Staff throughout the hotel work hard to provide a good service and were helpful with any problems or queries. There are just a few areas around the hotel that appear to be a little dated but these can be overlooked as they do not affect the stay there. |There were however a couple things that we noted but these could have been addressed by now. The grass area around the pool needed cutting and did make the area seem untidy. Staff in the dining room are very quick to clear tables and reset for the next diners but that could be a little annoying if a solo diner had got up to go get something and then returned to find their plates of unfinished food / drink etc gone. Perhaps a card / notice on the table to say 'finished' or 'not finished' could help with that. The small moving grill used to make toast at breakfast didn't toast the bread and only took it for a ride ! A toaster would be of more use. Another member of staff needed in the grill area. |We enjoyed our stay at the Las Vegas, for what we paid we certainly had no complaints, it was good value and we would...
