A small, elegant, well maintained garden. It features a number of fine specimen trees, a well featured fish pond, a classic croquet lawn, and a pathway that displays the orchids that the garden is locally famous for.

The garden makes full use of its space, and will be of interest to keen gardener's. The garden as a literary connection in that it was here in 1927 that she was inspired to create here only character with a supernatural touch, Mr Harley Quinn, which featured in her book "The Mysterious Mr Quinn." Indeed, if you take the time to look, you will find Mr Quinn and Ms Christie talking together in a dark corner of the garden.

The garden opens at 9:30 a.m, and closes at 6 p.m, with an entrance fee of €3.50. There is a small coffee shop at the end of the garden, near to the house. The coffee is good, and beer is available, and there is a wide range of refreshments; but my recommendation is to try the Cream Tea, featuring a large pot of tea, accompanied by a scone, cream, and jam. The setting could not be better, and it makes one want to dig out a cosy mystery and spend an...

So we visited here, because of its sales pitch of largest orchid Gardens in Puerto de la cruz, and a haven from the bustle of city life.Yeah right, first of all, the large orchid display was poor to non existent, you want to see a large selection and varied orchid display go to Loro Parque. A haven ftom city life, well it looked like someone's neglected back garden, and about the same size too. And as for Puertos oldest and biggest Dragon tree, disappointing, you want to see a really impressive 300 year old Dragon tree, go to Icod los vinos. I'm sorry to say that it probably was a great place back in its day , some time in Queen Victoria's reign. But now, just forget it. For the price of €4.75 each, too much for nothing. We spent barely ten minutes there. If you want flowers, impressive trees, and peace and quiet in a large garden go to the Botanical gardens in Puerto De Le Cruz, much better and only €3 Sorry no photos, because nothing...

A lovely garden, with lots of beautiful plants and a very peaceful atmosphere. However, it is advertised as the "orchids garden" with pictures of Cattleyas and I somehow expected it to actually have lots of different orchids. It was a bitter surprise to find out that there are lots of Phalaenopsis, all of them hybrids with no labelling, a couple of Oncidiums and a couple of Dendrobiums. Nothing else. I have a larger variety at home, in a climate that is not as favourable for them to grow and bloom! It was therefore quite a letdown, especially given the entry ticket is nearly 5€ - far worse value for money than the nearby botanical gardens (3€). If you are into orchids and thought of visiting to see them growing in a favourable climate (which should bring fantastic blooms), I suggest not going because you will be sorely disappointed!

This little gem of a garden is worth a visit, I believe it is the oldest garden of its kind on Tenerife and with the attached villa has played host to the great and the good over many years not least of which is Agatha Christie. The gardens are set out along walkways which open out to give you a series of mini gardens with various tropical plantings and many varied orchids. At the top of the garden is a large lily pond with some impressive koi carp, at the bottom of the gardens near the villa(not open to the public) is the cafe with serves a full and varied menu also here there is a very impressive dragon tree 600+years old. It is best to approach the gardens from the top along the Carrera Botánico as the walk up from the bottom along the Camino Sito Litre is very steep. Entrance fee was reasonable €4.75 each(11.10.2022).

I went expecting to get a real sense of the botanical vibrancy of the Canary Islands and instead found a monument to the colonial influence of the British elite with only a handful of native plants. There was no reference to this historical context, aside from a sign outside (not in affiliation with the garden). My other observation was that there was a very limited variety of orchids, I could only spot one or two species and they were the same ones you see in the supermarket. The garden has a real potential to educate tourists on the colonial significance of the space along side its beauty (as it really was stunning) and I would love to encourage that with this review!
