A small, elegant, well maintained garden. It features a number of fine specimen trees, a well featured fish pond, a classic croquet lawn, and a pathway that displays the orchids that the garden is locally famous for.
The garden makes full use of its space, and will be of interest to keen gardener's. The garden as a literary connection in that it was here in 1927 that she was inspired to create here only character with a supernatural touch, Mr Harley Quinn, which featured in her book "The Mysterious Mr Quinn." Indeed, if you take the time to look, you will find Mr Quinn and Ms Christie talking together in a dark corner of the garden.
The garden opens at 9:30 a.m, and closes at 6 p.m, with an entrance fee of €3.50. There is a small coffee shop at the end of the garden, near to the house. Read moreSo we visited here, because of its sales pitch of largest orchid Gardens in Puerto de la cruz, and a haven from the bustle of city life.Yeah right, first of all, the large orchid display was poor to non existent, you want to see a large selection and varied orchid display go to Loro Parque. A haven ftom city life, well it looked like someone's neglected back garden, and about the same size too. And as for Puertos oldest and biggest Dragon tree, disappointing, you want to see a really impressive 300 year old Dragon tree, go to Icod los vinos. I'm sorry to say that it probably was a great place back in its day , some time in Queen Victoria's reign. But now, just forget it. For the price of €4.75 each, too much for nothing. We spent barely ten minutes there. If you want flowers, impressive trees, and peace and quiet in a large garden go to the Botanical gardens in Puerto De Le Cruz, much better and only €3 Sorry no photos, because nothing...
