A terrible experience, and without doubt the most unprofessional, rude and and unhelpful staff I've ever come across in any restaurant in any country I've ever visited. I can't comment on the food itself as we never got that far. We arrived late in the evening and were seated straightaway. The restaurant wasn't overly busy. A waiter came to clear the excess plates and cutlery from our table and dropped half of it, then proceeded to place the menus, which were old and worn, on our plates instead of handing them to us or placing them next to us. We chose what we wanted and waited... And waited... Eventually we managed to get another waiters attention, when he came over we asked if we could please order drinks and starters. He said yes and that he would be back in a minute. He never returned and nor did anybody else. I was watching him and he wasn't overly busy, - at one point he was talking to another waitress who appeared to be leaving. He walked past us several times without so much as looking at us. Another man, who I assume was the manager as he was dressed differently to the other staff, also walked past several times without acknowledging us. I counted five members of staff, and only a handful of guests, yet nobody came back, so after 20 minutes or so we left. We weren't sure if it was because they don't like tourists or because of my partners skin colour, but tourists or not, we were courteous and friendly, and if they didn't want to serve us, they could've just said they were closing or something. My partner confronted the waiter when we left but suddenly he could no longer understand any English. The man whom I assumed to be the manager came over and listened to our complaints but I felt he was being fake as he had also ignored us and my partner felt he looked at us funny when we walked in. Thankfully this was the only bad experience we had on our holiday on this...
Read moreThis is the first time we have visited Puerto de la Cruz and we found this restaurant on our first night. My partner had the steak and I had a pasta and sauce. The food was delicious, cooked to perfection with lots of flavour and the service was lovely. We have since searched the town for other restaurants in the evening and tried several different places and the service wasn't as great and food was mediocre compared to Compostelana Avenida. We have noticed there are other Compostelana restaurants past the harbour (to your left if you are facing the sea) and we are extremely interested in visiting those before we go home. We don't have children but there were a few families around us with kids and the waiters were more than helpful to accomodate their needs and were fun with the children. There's not a lot of restaurants around Puerto de la Cruz were you will enjoy your meal and have excellent service all in one. We have eaten here three times in 6 days and we have tried the pizzas, pastas and the specialities between us. Very...
Read moreJesus Christ.... We ordered starters and pizza, got them both at the same time, my starter was missing. We also ordered 2 coffees and 0.5l of wine, that was clearly for 3 of us to share, we got only one glass for it... and honestly I feel like they stereotyped me as being polish=alcoholic (a waiter asked where we were from when we arrived). The pizza was not even good, somehow both of them arrived slightly cold. the waiter placed olive oil on our table, but with the amount of oil that was already in the pizza, you'd have to be insane to add more. Waiters are not organized at all, we got served by a total of 3 different waiters, if we hypothetically wanted to tip our favorite waiter, how would we even go about this? The menu comes in many languages, we were surprised to see they also have a polish menu, but the catch is: Menu is very poorly translated somehow even in english, we saw one of desserts was "the worst in whole Terife" which I'm inclined to believe might actually be true (I did not order it,...
