Our second visit. The rematch after the previous (unfriendly) setback. Unfortunately, too bad, No friendly hello, no "how nice that you chose us", no smiling faces, no friendly communication with customers, no friendly responses to our questions, no "Did you enjoy it", no goodbye and we hope to see you again. Very simple things that cost nothing. Very strange for a restaurant that strives for a 10 for customer experience but does nothing about it. But why do your best if the customers will come anyway.
First and last time. It seems like a nice and cozy restaurant with a good menu. That's true but the horrendous handling ruins it. We didn't get a decent word from the older waiter. Everything was put on the table without a word and the bill was even slapped on the table. After such treatment we will not come back despite staying in Puerto for another 7 weeks. I don't understand how such men don't realize what they cause with their behavior. Bah, what a nasty and...
Read more23rd july 21.00 Lovely women outside restaurant invited us In and gave us English translated menus and sat us down. Staff not friendly at all, I asked the waiter " older gentleman wearing apron" if they did a creamy pepper corn sauce to go with the €30 sirloin and he walked away to other waiters , I can only assume he didn't want to hear me speak English and came back 5 mins later and i asked again with a sharp response to my question was NO it's not on the menu. WHAT do you want?. I ordered chicken paella, trust me this was rabbit, not chicken. When I asked the waiter he shrugged and walked away. Overall the food was poor, service was poor.. even asking for the bill was difficult. We had carbonara which was bland, and was full of fatty undercooked bacon.. lasagne which was dry, with hardly any sauce inside and my chicken paella, which was rabbit. 2nd visit to puerto de la cruz, we will never visit this...
Read moreWe'd visited this restaurant for lunch with the intention of getting tapas and a cocktails. We'd passed a few times and the tapas menu looked delicious.
What a disappointment the reality was.
We ordered smoked salmon and prawn and avocado bruchetta, fish tacos, and calamari rings. The 'Bruschetta' was a slice of soggy toast, with 5 prawns lobbed on top of a watery avocado sauce. The fish tacos were simply lumps of fish, with no suggestion of any taco, and the calamari was small and rubbery.
The margherita cocktail was fine, but not as strong or as finely decorated as we'd become used to elsewhere in Tenerife.
The service was fine, though nothing to write about. We had a meal the next day for the same price which was much, much better at a restaurant just 5...
