Next to a building site (Nov 2022). Apparently, a new hotel is being built next door all well and good but why on earth did they not make that clear in advance? Not everyone wants to be woken up before 8am in the morning by the sound of drilling and other building site noises. I flagged this (and other issues) to staff on reception a couple of times but the hotel was busy and I was told there were no free rooms to move to.
My room (512) was facing the main square - Plaza Del Duque - and it was VERY busy. If i'd known in advance that the square was such a social hotspot, with bus stops, a huge taxi stand, I don't think I would've chosen this hotel. Trying to sleep was hard with hearing drunk people shouting, chanting, singing - motorcycles whizzing by at speed - vehicle reversing beeps etc was very hard for me
Smaller issues; the strange sound of running water in the room and not having an iron in the room - having to phone down and wait whenever I needed to iron my clothes wasn't the best. A shame no coffee available in the room (tea only). Also, the Wifi wasn't great, however, this was sorted once I reported it to reception. They got someone to re-set the router and all was well.
Bright side! Good points for those who aren’t light sleepers;
A very modern, clean looking building and room too. Gorgeous decor and general aesthetic. I really liked my room. My junior suite was a very good size, it felt quite luxurious for just one person! Easy to walk to anywhere of interest - Setas, the Giralda, Cathedral, Santa Justa station, shopping on Sierpes, museum of fine art - everything you need can be reached on foot Friendly staff who were able to...
Read moreThe room was spacious, clean, and modern, and featured comfortable bedding and all the necessary amenities. The design of the room also allowed for a comfortable reading corner, a designated work area, and a relaxing rest space. The cleaning was done meticulously, and while there was no coffee-making option in the room, there were kettle and tea options, and excellent coffee was available at breakfast or easily accessible elsewhere in the city. The front desk staff was extremely friendly and helpful with any questions or requests, and the breakfast staff was also polite and accommodating. The breakfast was continental, and always fresh and well-stocked. I loved that my room (608) was on a higher floor and was overlooking a little square with no buildings - it was very peaceful! The location is ideal, as it is situated in proximity to a wide range of popular tourist attractions (Seville Cathedral, Flamenco Theater, Plaza Nueva, plaza del toros etc.), restaurants, and shopping destinations. The hotel is located across the street from Corte Ingles and just around the corner from the main shopping street. Additionally, it is just a short walk from the Plaza de Gavidia, where there are two excellent bodegas for dinner, and the Hercules Columns plaza, where there are many options for lunch and dinner. On the downside: I would, perhaps, add some toiletries, such as: conditioner, cotton pads & cotton swabs. Also, a toilet brush was missing in my room. Overall, I had a great experience at this hotel and would definitely recommend it to others looking for a great...
Read moreWe stayed for a week.
The breakfasts are very nice. Big range of stuff on the hot and cold section, and the range of cakes pastries and cold dishes if broad and varied. What comes out each day is often different and there were some partially nice apple pies and chocolate tarts.
The location is very central, there is a small lounge downstairs and on the first floor when breakfast was closed away. The WiFi was good and the rooms are very modern and clean. Housekeeping was good every day.
The minor downsides were that if you like tea rather than coffee the hot water st breakfast just wasn't really hot enough.
It wasn't an option to have instant coffee in the room with the tea (others have grumbled re this). There was no milk provided with the kettle in the room ( they just did not have mini sachets of milk) and when we asked for the mini bar to be switched on, as an alternative, so we could keep milk we were told it's not for this purpose and it's only to stop the mineral water getting warm. This seemed odd but the answer was provided so quickly it felt it had been asked before. The mini bar was just not working even when plugged in?
Perhaps some of this could have been a breakdown in communication for English to Spanish but we did try twice and it's a decent hotel so you do expect front of house to have reasonable English...
Overall, nice breakfasts decent location, but the customer service and little stuff was a...
