🛎️I did a hotel inspection and here’s what I can tell you! This is an incredible combination of ancient heritage and modern-level service. The fact that it belongs to the prestigious Marriott brand is felt in every detail.
Your love begins with a pleasant scent at the entrance and the doorman’s warm smile. (I was lucky — there were fresh peonies, and I absolutely love them!)
Then — the lobby, like in a Hollywood movie from the Gatsby era. With a bar and a grand piano. Panoramic windows overlooking the city square. Great place, I'll come back to have coffee here.
🪞The hallways are perhaps the most unusual — curved, to hide the doors and avoid seeing other guests. A certain mystery and privacy. The carpets are so soft your feet literally sink in — they add comfort and coziness.
But the most memorable thing here — the doors. 🚪Like a bank vault: three times thicker than normal doors. As you enter the room, you’re met with an incredible sense of space — the high ceilings have been preserved, keeping part of the thousand-year-old building’s history.
🫣The hotel is located right in the center, on the main square. You’d think: “What could be worse” in a city where there are fireworks and crowds of tourists every day… But it’s as quiet as a museum here. I don’t know how, but you don’t even hear the cars honking. And truly — stress-free sleep is the best thing on any trip. It might sound strange to some, but there’s nothing worse than hearing your neighbors or a crowd celebrating outside when all you want is sleep. ⁉️I’m still curious to stay overnight and find out how good the pillows are (and if there’s a pillow menu in case they’re not comfy!). Maybe they’ll invite me to test it 😂
At the top — a terrace, a pool, and a magical view of the city. All rooms are of the same standard, and each one includes a bar, bathrobe, and safe. There’s even an ironing board and iron ⁉️The design is very original — a blend of classic touches with modern elements, featuring golden accents that are not flashy or vulgar at all.
There are automated functions — a smart home system that lets you control both the temperature and lighting in the room.
In the evening, in the main hall (where breakfast and dinner are served), there are live music nights. Guest musicians play piano in the center of the room. There’s also a bar and a large selection of cocktails.
Downstairs — a meeting room for up to 10 people and a gym!
This is also the perfect place to start your city exploration — right outside the hotel are many cafes, restaurants, shops, and charming little streets for walking. Not far away, you’ll find the Cathedral with the Holy Grail, and San Nicolas Church, which is often compared to the Sistine Chapel for its breathtaking ceiling paintings.
And the best idea — a bike tour with a guide: discover hidden corners, hear the wonderful history of Valencia, and finish the evening watching the sunset in Albufera Bay.

Read moreI stayed for an event trip that overlapped with our anniversary. Wanted one nice gesture: a paid-for bottle of champagne in the room, something apparently very simple to do... ||I confirmed the anniversary champagne twice (via Ambassador and pre-arrival email). Bottle was not there, apparently due to the "missed selection" on my side...|instead we found dessert plus a welcome note addressed to a different guest, quite awkward.||After I asked about the missing bottle, staff sent me options via their chat, then rang the room, clearly ruining the surprise. In an attempt to save the surprise, I picked a bottle that finally arrived in a bucket with a few ice cubes and a lot of cold water, my partner ended up signing the bill herself... Call it a surprise||Often hotels at this level place a free prosecco bottle in the room (which I did not ask for) so even if they really asked me to pick one pre-arrival and for whatever reason I didn't receive the email, any GM of any luxury property would have said "let's put a bottle in there regardless because it's a surprise"... After me complaining about it they did not even bother saying "the bottle is on us because of the trouble we caused". ||One afternoon we were stopped near the elevator with “Can I help you?” even though key-card access is required, maybe cause we were in shorts on a 40 degrees day? Lift have security scan to access the floor so felt very unnecessary. ||The restaurant card reader wouldn’t take my Amex, staff just said “use another card” instead of trying a second terminal.||No toothbrush in the room||All in all the property is brand new and in an attractive location, also I appreciated the complimentary room upgrade, however service did not follow along.||The service isn’t yet at true luxury level, it could eventually fall under a 4-star level hotel. At this price range the alternatives are quite abundant...
