The Fort Library Hostel — Hotel in Galle

I stayed in four other hostels around Sri Lanka before this staying at this hostel and I would NOT recommend this hostel to friends and other travellers. It was overpriced for what it was. There was only one toilet and it was always dirty. There’s lots of hair trimmings all over the sink and the drain. The door to the toilet was difficult to open and close and it also seemed like the toilet is a storage room. There were two makeshift shower rooms outside but there’s no hot water. The common room was crammed. There’s a water dispenser that never had water in it. The sliding door to the dorm made the loudest noise. No matter how quietly you try to close the sliding door, it just made so much noise. The bunk beds didn’t have privacy curtains which I didn’t mind but the actual bed was not comfortable at all. The hostel is not a social hostel which is fine for me. The only thing I liked about the hostel was the location. Everything else were sadly...

It’s one of the top 2 best among the hostels I’ve stayed at in Lanka, and it even has air conditioning!

Staff are amazing and helpful.

They also offer a paid laundry service (cheaper than the one I used in around Hiriketiya beach).

They have cooking lesson which is I very much recommend!

The only two drawbacks: first, the beds near the small road might occasionally pick up the sound of people walking by. However, since it’s a small path inside a fortress, not the main road, there aren’t many passersby. Plus, I wore earplugs while sleeping, so it didn’t bother me much. Well maintained hostel inside galle fort. 12 comfortable beds, power supply, usb charging point, seperate lighting, seperate lockers to each bed. Tranquil and very peaceful ambiance.
