Great pizzeria in the heart of Basel city center. Their pizza is literally one of a kind for me, really delicious. I really appreciate both Margherita and other option, and I also really appreciate the ‘Bianca’ option (no tomatoes). The portions are very generous and the pizza is huge, so it can be ordered also in fractions. Normally they have some pizza ready so in my case, for two persons, we have been served asap. We had the feeling that all the products were very fresh and well prepared. Also desserts are really good, I tasted tiramisu and loved it. I once ordered also to take away and all went very smooth. Prices are very honest too, they really have no grey areas for me. The location is very very nice with tables also outside, the atmosphere is cozy and warm, the restaurant is super clean (and it offers also the opportunity to wash your hands at the entrance!) The staff was super kind to us and welcoming, we really felt at home there, definitely we’ll go back as soon as we can! On top of this, one nice discovery is that they are open on Sundays (not many restaurants are) so it is a great option if you want to enjoy the city in a more...
Read moreThe concept is ok at the beginning, but it quickly decays. I dislike that VITO Pizza does discrimination of non-vegetarian people by charging 2.- more for a few slices of salami or ham. Once I started complaining and a woman who acted like a manager replied to me that everything was perfect in an ideal world with a nervous, sardonical smile. As I still wasn't satisfied, she looped her weird rictus. All workers are millenials, so do not expect any educated behaviour when you are dissatisfied. I went there once out of rush hour, there were some guys for a survey, so the staff girl let me wait and wait. When she finally took my order, I underlined sarcastically that I would like to order if possible still today, she became hateful. What a lack of education. All of this hyped concept, most of the times you will eat cold or warmed up pizza, very rarely fresh from the oven. So yes, the concept is nice at the beginning, but fades soon as mentioned in the beginning. All is so light. And thank you in advance for your copy paste answer, you can spare it. Just squeeze this review a little and find...
Read moreMy friend who came to Basel wanted to have pizza so we went to Vitos. One of the guys (german) working there was really helpful and stored away her suitcases. All in all they wanted to close quick but we were still allowed to order another drink (first fault) then one of the waiters got quite unfriendly almost kicking us out literally, he was unfriendly towards his colleague too. I mean if you want people to leave don’t let them order another drink and if you do let them finish in peace. It was a very bad experience and i was sorry for my friend who has not been in Basel in 3 years and must deal with such an experience. This kind of service is unacceptable in my eyes. I won’t come to Vitos soon and won’t recommend it to anyone either. There were other things too, but it would take too long to write it all down now. They also do not have mineral water on the card, and we were quite thirsty. I mean? We ended up ordering coke instead. I would have preferred to have mineral water pairing with my wine but definitely not going to pay for tap water because they do not have mineral water...
