LUX Restaurant & Bar — Restaurant in Zurich

This place is just beautiful with a breathtaking view of the Zurich lake. The weather was perfect and we were lucky to have a table .. unfortunately the joy was cut right at the beginning! The server was so dry and unfriendly. We ordered among other plates “chicken nuggets” for my 5 years old daughter and he brought it with spice dressing all over! Then I ask him that I ordered this for a child and he raised his elbows and left ..of course my daughter didn’t eat any of this. Then we wanted a new tour of drinks… forget ! Between the time we chase him to take the order and the time we got the drinks we could go home by foot and come back! And when we reminded him that we order some drink he look at us and said something like “ coming”! With an amazing never seen smile! Of course never seen because he never smiled! Then the drinks arrived and even the wine was already at room temperature, do you drink white wine at room temperature? Not me ! And of course no apologies whatsoever! It's a very elegant ambience inside with plenty of space between tables. It lacks a bit the personality but that's acceptable speaking about the restaurant of the Kongresshaus, you expect it to be a bit neutral, generic. Food is of a high quality, absolutely acceptable standard, steak well prepared, veal tartare fresh and nicely seasoned. Accompanying bread is dreadful. However, service needs to improve. Reception very slow, nobody helps with jackets, waiter not offering drinks menu, then not waiting to take my drinks order (let alone asking for it), then when finished ordering he knocks me in the arm with the menus while taking them away, they forget one piece of my dish (I honestly didn't notice) which then he throws on my plate 3 minutes later, and the list goes on. I like the location but the attention from my last experience was terrible.. I love the burgers from this place so my friend and I we went there for the burgers but they refused to serve us the burgers with the excuse that is open only inside for dinner and the burgers they can serve only outside and was close already BUT I've notice outside some people were still sitting which makes me think they did in purpose because they want to sell their expensive dishes... we didn't expected to be sitting there to get zurich geschnetzeltes the main reason we went there was BURGERS.. in the end we get zurich geschnezeltes expensive but good made.. they trick us also with the water, we order a bottle of watter the bottle was over, the server came to pick up the empty bottle and brought a new one, we though is complementary but was added 1 more bottle in my bill...
