Please don't save your money on this budget hotel. Checkinn has other locations that are more pricey, but looking at the photos of others, it seemed much better. This place needs a big makeover.
But I digress, it's still okay for service wise.
Location wise it's near taipei main station, nearby the taipei mall, there is the "underground passageways " you can come out to to walk down back to the hotel, "Y13" if I'm not mistaken.
Go by the Y passageways of the taipei underground mall.
The bathroom itself is small so, when there is a bathtub, when showering, the water splashes everywhere.
The toilet is small... so I suggest to get a shower instead of the bathtub, at least its cosy er?
Also the bed now, my wife and myself were covered in bedbug bites. The blanket cover came out while we slept because it was so easy for it come out! So we slept without the blanket cover.
Not only that. The blanket itself had so much stains! Geezus ...
Also, the room had so much noise from the aircon, the aircon couldn't be adjusted... and was either too cold or too warm, lack of ventilation.
The soundproofing is terrible, you could hear the showers beside. And the window that we opened was directly beside another apartment building dining room. (Old aunty peeping)
Other than that.. the staff , more or less alright, as we didn't have much interaction. Room, please for God's sake. There are other better looking hotels and even hostels around that district. 380+ sgd for us for a 4 day 3 night stay was quite a bargain.. but seriously whoever stays here.. please... check...
Read moreFor a 3* hotel (as the hotel points at it, we found elsewhere it was only 2), the room is quite disappointing. No service for a 3 stars hotels (breakfast, laundry, gym, luggage storing etc). The hygiene isn't good (no cleaning service during 5 days or towel replacement). You need to throw the toilet paper in the trash bin (with no cleaning service provided during 5 days). Insects in the bedroom. Bad smell in the bathroom from the tube. Cold water for the shower. No place to put our stuffs in the bathroom. No noise insonorisation. You hear your neighbors taking their shower, talking to their couples or going to the toilet. It isn't glamour to describe it. I believe frankly Taipei offers a very low cost service in comparison of Hong-Kong where cleaning is made every day and staff service...
Read more(this is a review for the CHECK inn Express Taipei Station in Datong district) An efficient, budget choice. Convenient location (convenient store across the street, and 15 minute walk from central shopping area and night market), though in a less glamorous part of town. Note that, like some places in Asia, you can NOT flush toilet paper down the toilet at this hotel. Very thin walls, can hear the tiniest drain activity next door; bring ear plugs if you are a light sleeper. Small room; in my room with two beds, they are side by side with no room in between. Good overall cleaniness, though bathroom fixture is imperfect. Decent toiletries. Weak, unusable blow dryer. Room is equipped withinternational electric outlets. Helpful,...
