One of the worst bar experiences we've had in Taiwan. 😭 We visited on a night when a guest bartender was running a special program, but it turned out to be a huge disappointment. The bar opened an hour late without any notification, and once we finally got in, we had to wait another hour just to get our drinks. 🤯 The wait was absurdly long, and when the drinks arrived, they were overly sweet, with a confusing menu that didn't help.
While the interior was small but beautifully decorated, especially the colored glass roof, the experience was marred by the 90s Taiwanese pop music playing in the background, making it feel more like a karaoke bar than a cocktail lounge.
We had high expectations given the crowd outside, but the entire experience was a waste of time and left us with a bad taste—literally and figuratively. Again, it was a guest event, so I really hope the bar isn’t usually like this. However, this was our true experience.
Ps: the staff (owners?) was...
Read moreThey have a crazy menu. At first glance, it seems they have less than 10 original cocktails. But really each page gives you a base recipe with three combinations to choose. So there’s actually quite a bit. We had the elixir sour, grain in ear punch, grain in ear fizz, and epiphyllum fizz. All of them were great except the grain ear fizz. The description states it has tabasco and the waiter said it would be spicy. But it was honestly not good and completely unbalanced. We also had a penicillin classic cocktail. It was fine, a little too smokey but that’s mostly preference.
We got the salt and pepper chicken to snack on. It was okay.
The staff was very kind, and it’s a cool theme. The ceiling light is bright and blue before 20:00. Then they dim the lights, make it red, and...
Read moreThis may have been one of my best night caps abroad. I found this bar after dinner by searching on the map and let me tell you that all 5 starts they have are well deserved
First, the Moscow mule was delicious. The bartender and the owner were extremely friendly (even if I don’t speak Chinese).
We had a long chat about Mezcal and Pisco (I’m Peruvian!). The owner had me taste Taiwanese whiskey and a few of the Mezcals he had. We shared a great moment together talking about the different cocktails around the world, especially those coming from LatAm.
The night ended with a shot of Mezcal.
Couldn’t have asked for a better night. It was the perfect wrap to my time in Taipei.
Strongly suggest you check this place...
