The stair lift for the wheelchair accessibility is broken / not working, so Therefore, it's not wheelchair accessible. It's a shame as it's super cool and almost accessible. As we document our world travel ( youtube @traveling_to_get_lost), we would like to share the locations with others with limited mobility. Hopefully, the owner can make the stairloft work again soon. :) Luckily, my husband can walk on crutches shorter distance so he could do the 5 stairs up to the elevator.
The staff is super helpful and really communicative with me as my flight got super delayed, made it still possible for me to check-in later than reception hours. This is a great hostel. ( should not advertise it as wheelchair friendly) It has a huge kitchen area and really good facilities to warm up food or even make some light ones. Fridge, etc. Even downstairs, u have washing machines and toilets. We stayed here and worked before heading to the airport
Location: It wasn't hard to find at all, arrived after 2am! I read reviews saying ppl couldn't find the place. Maybe they dont know how google maps work or do their research before arriving. It's walking distance to everything, really everything.
Service: Great, and the place is clean, staff helpful and speaks really good English.
Room: we stayed 1 night in room 601 bed 09 ( double bed) super cool layouts in the room. We then moved to level 2 bed 11, and that was better for my husband and his wheelchair. Level 2 has a huge bathroom. The Matress on the bed was super comfy, and the room was spacious. In level 6, we had a family who was super filthy leaving the room in a horrible mess! Felt sorry for the cleaning staff. The place is clean and the staff do their best. It's the people who stay for a few nights that are filthy and don't know how to throw garbage in...
Read moreACCESSIBILITY 💙 Place is between Taipei Main and Ximending Stations. It's 1 street away from a major road where a lot of buses pick up passengers. There's also a bus stop a few meters away which makes it easier for me to come back in the evenings. 💙 Numerous food shops outside the building. Just cross the street and there's a 7-Eleven, Family Mart, and a local eatery for your traditional Taiwanese breakfast cravings. 💆♀️Multiple massage shops nearby as well, perfect after a long day of walking
STAY 💙 I booked a single bed in a female-only room (2nd Floor). There's a double-bed option. There's only 1 outlet per bed so best to bring extension cord. 🗄You get a locker which can be open with the key card so no need to bring a padlock. 🚺 Shared bathroom and toilet was cleaned at least 2x a day to my knowledge. Body wash and shampoo+conditioner provided. Shower pressure is good, and hot water is available. You have to bring your own towel or rent from them. 📶 WiFi was reliable. ⛺ They have a water dispenser in our floor and a common area with kitchen and fridge plus washing machine and dryer in the basement. 🙇♂️ Staff are approachable and helpful. 🛅 If you're coming in early and want to leave your bags, even if you gave them a heads up on Agoda, still need to SMS or call them via phone so they can remotely unlock the main door (reception opens at 11am). You can also leave your luggage after check out in case you have an evening flight. 🤔 Idk if it's a thing in other hostels but they don't sweep the floors inside the...
Read moreTruly a nightmarish hostel. Words can’t sum up the unpleasant experience I had. Room has been turned into a cage apartment by the girls who live in the room. Their clothes hung and strewn everywhere in the room, despite hostel policies to keep place spick and span. There is only one shared toilet on the floor, causing backlog of guests waiting to use it. Toilet is grimy and dark on the main hall.
Shower in the room is clogged and caused massive flooding within toilet and you have to turn off the water for several minutes to let it drain (that’s only after 3 minutes of showering), it’s utterly horrendous. And the water temperature runs hot and cold at every interval minutes. Paid a handsome sum to say in this dingy hotel. Utterly absolutely terrible. The girls in the room are noisy up till 1 am, some don’t shut the door quietly when entering and leaving late at night.
Hostel staff should enforce strict rules to occupants in the room to keep their things to the bare minimum. The room is filled with oversized luggage that hinders movement.
The common area’s trash bin is overfilled with rubbish late at night. Overall staff are super nice and friendly but seriously management can do a lot better. Even their niceness can’t make up for the lack of room basic amenities.
You’re better off finding other hostels in the area for much cheaper price.
I checked out one day early to a nearby hostel that is much better equipped and well-kept.
I’ve stayed in many hostels but this one ought to be the...
