Tsubame Ramen — Restaurant in Zhongzheng District

Ordered their signature ramen dish and char siew rice. The ramen broth is somehow special with bubbles on top and white color broth (its really white! Not like usual broth). The noodle is nice, chewy but not hard. The portion is kind of small and a lil bit pricey but still acceptable.

The char siew rice is tasty. I like their sauce and they put mayonaise on top of the dish, very nice!

The restaurant is always full of people queeing since they have limited seat. Last time we had to wait around 20 minutes. Their service is great. Once you order your meal and pay the bill, the food will coming out so fast! But they will ask you to leave right after you finish your meal, so definitely not a place to hangout with your friends, you just come to eat and leave hahaha..

Pro tip: Before you come to this restaurant, i suggest you to check their IG photo, they will post when the store is open, are they open for lunch or dinner, what is their menu on that week, when you can come to start...

Positive: The overall food looks nice with good presentation.

Negative: The seating is uncomfortable due to very narrow, bar-style seats, and the table is sticky. The plasticine noodles are of poor quality. There is too much sauce added to the 叉燒飯 (barbecued pork rice). The broth is tasteless. For some reason, they also add a dash of mustard, fortunately only to the edge of the bowl. They poured sesame sauce over the chicken (why??? it is not a salad), and the music is loud. Oh yeah, and they don’t accept card, even though they issue 發票.

Ordered the signature poultry broth based ramen (with chicken/duck chashu, onions, scallions, and kales). Suggest to taste the original soup first, then can add yuzu pepper or vinegar/garlic to richer the flavors.

The place is very popular. I arrived about 5:05 pm (it opens at 5 pm) on Thursday and waited for about 30 minutes to get in. They distribute number cards for waiting diners but still better to wait there.
