A good hotel will want to or try to meet customers' needs. This hotel certainly didn't do that. Nothing too special about this hotel. They did the very min to take care of their customers.
We just found out my wife is pregnant before coming back to Taiwan; therefore, there were some requests in terms of changing meals for her but they didn't have any desire to help at all. In general, the food is OK for me but not for my wife. Anyway, I'm disappointed with this hotel.
Being put in a hotel quarantine itself is already a tough thing for people and the hotel not willing to make things easier for customers is just not a right move.
On the check out day, I had to go home and get my car and it was impossible to find a temp parking near the hotel so I had to "illegally" park on the sidewalk. We came back from the States with at least 7 bags. When I made the first load on the van, the front desk guy said I am supposed to move all the luggage in ONE trip! HELLO! Did I not tell you that my wife is pregnant, plus the evelavor is not big enough for all of our luggage to fit in there so I had to make at least 2 trips!
There are many other quarantine hotels in Taipei city so explore other options. The room is pretty small but enough space for basic movements. There is construction going on just right across the street so there is no quiet moment. The hotel is located near ximending and beimen so uber eats are...
Read moreThis is a great spot for recharging for another long day out and about!
The hotel is about 10 mins walk to Taipei Main Station - which is probably where most tourists would arrive from Taoyuan International Airport, and a set off point to most places in Taipei (Shifen, Xinbeitou, etc). I did not mind the walk, unless it is raining very heavily.
In the opposite direction, one could walk the 10-15 mins to Ximending - a great place to get lost in the shops, eateries, and beauty salons.
The place feels relatively safe, and it offers breakfast options such as 7-11 and a supposedly famous dou jiang you tian (soya milk and fried dough fritters) shop. The hotel also offers a porridge buffet breakfast, but I recommend getting the rooms without.
The room is clean but small (I'm told it's typical in Taipei), and the wifi is decent. Possible to stream EPL from home! The bed is a little ...
Read moreI had a nasty shock when I was first given room 202. The room was very small even for a solo traveller. Also, a bigger rude shock was that the room was not cleaned up when it was allocated to me. Hence, there are hairs on the bed and pillow, the dustbin had food left over from the previous customer.
The hotel then changed another room for me - 502. 502 was abit bigger in terms of size. Thereafter, the cleaner also did a good job in cleaning up the room everyday. However in this room, the TV had no sound. Also, the toilet door and the fridge were old.
Location is supreme as it is located near Z10 entrance.
No breakfast provided although there is free coffee...
