Read morePrice rate is reasonable. Stayed for 3 nights. The mattress and comforter are super good quality like hotel standard so I had good sleep every night. The staff is very attentive, responsive and friendly, be it communication in LINE or in person. The overall environment is clean, including the bathrooms. They provide indoor slippers and shoe rack for keeping shoes. Although it’s gender mixed for the rooms with bunker beds, I can still have my private space with the curtain covered up. I have a compartment to lock my important belongings. So far no issue on the bathroom sharing as well. It’s understood that we need to stay quiet while others in sleep or in the room. The locker is just nice to fit in my backpack but definitely will not fit for big luggage with rollers. Hence you might need to check with the staff on the locker size for your luggage in advance for storage. It has big basin for washing but not meant for laundry as no spacing for drying the apparels. It’s 10-15mins walking distance from BeiMen (red line) MRT station and crossing the road on left for bus station in front of post office. A vegetarian cafe called CAMA (in yellow) for breakfast and coffee is just cross the road turn to right from the hostel. They serve great coffee and breads, must try their fresh baked cinnamon rolls. Will...
Read moreThere were not many hotels available and by great luck we found this hostel. Judging from the standard of hostels in Taipei, this one is the cream of the crop. In fact, it is likely a better option than quite a few hotels we looked at...
Very friendly lady at the reception who gave us a warm welcome and a lot of tips for sightseeing. The hostel itself is pretty relaxed and clean, which is the most important aspect for us.
Major pro is also that the security is tight. No strangers can enter the hostel without a key, camera's all in the common area and you got lockers in the room next to your bed. Guests are well behaved (no loud noises). They also offer free ear plugs (which are needed as some people wake up early to leave).
The only con I have is that we were given two pillows, one of them being a memory foam. However, it had no cover which I think gave off a bit of a musty smell. I had put a small towel over the pillows anyway so it did not bother me too much.
In any case, given the price range, if you are looking for a hostel, I would not search any further in my opinion.
Last but not least, you get a free towel for leaving a good review, but who would do that if they were not happy with this place? Maybe a 4.9 is too high but it is...
