Fun Stay Inn Ximen — Hotel in Taipei

I'm convinced that most of these positive reviews are fake. First off, let me say that i did request a refund due a family emergency and I had to leave earlier. The employee Charlie did not care not even try to compromise with me but my review isn't solely base on this.

I attached a few pictures, one of the dirty bed spread that they were nice enough to change but still shouldn't have happened in the first place , second picture of the urine laced toilet seat that is crusty and disgusting. The pictures don't do justice to how dirty both actually were. Also a picture and video of the shower drainage system, the black mold and sample of how 0 soundproofing there is

I was reading through other reviews and absolutely agree with the following points :

There's an extremely strong sewage smell at times Theres absolutely no soundproofing at all, I took multiple videos from my bed of the neighbors and their kids running in the hallway at 11 pm at night. I bought this point up to agoda but Charlie didn't talk to me about it. On the second night i was fed up as it was 11h30 pm and they were still making noise IN THE HALLWAY. I was told that they have a family as if that was a justifiable reason to be making so much noise at that time of night. I asked then to check security cameras if they didn't believe me. while I was showering I was constantly worried about the bathroom flooding as the water wasn't draining properly . I posted a video/picture. seemingly black mold on the ceiling which would make sense if the drainage system isn't adequate.

Additionally there were other areas in the bathroom that seems unclean and disgusting besides just the crusty toilet seat.

I'm extremely disappointed because when I first opened the door I was excited but then that excitement quickly went away as I realized how dirty it was. Additionally, I'm on vacation looking to relax and it's impossible given that I can hear my neighbors of the hotel at night.

I've spent over 40 days in Asia and I've used multiple hotels, some amazing and some not so good but this has by far been the worse one.

Id like to note that my review has been honest and fair based on the feedback that I experienced. I did read similar reviews that share the same points but had I had a good experience, I wouldn't be writing this right now. Staying here actually made me lose sleep and helped ruined my taiwan experience.

These reviews must be fake because my experience with these guys was absolutely terrible. When we arrived the room smelled of just straight mildew and mold. The receptionist acknowledged it and gave us a spray (which obviously didn’t do much after five seconds.) We asked to change rooms but it was full. We had to figure something out because I have had asthma attacks from that much mildew in the air and there was no way either of us could sleep in that. The next person we spoke to said “it wasn’t bad.” I am from a hot and humid place and manage properties so I know the smell and it was definitely bad… it smelled like a property that was either flooded and not properly aired out and treated or the a/c unit hadn’t been cleaned property in a very long time and was just growing mildew… that unit gave me a headache within five minutes of standing there. Us and the hotel staff agreed that my husband and I would look at a couple different dates to change it to and we mutually agreed that we would reach back out in a few days when we had a solid date to see if they would have availability. This was at nearly midnight. 1 pm the next day they backpedal and say they are actually charging us a cancellation fee because “I didn’t respond” when we clearly told them we wouldn’t know an exact date until a few days later. I messaged them back with zero response. Absolutely...

Stayed here from 30/12/2024 to 3/1/2025. It's a nice hotel located 3 minutes walk away from Ximen MRT station. It might be a bit difficult hard to get here, especially at night since it's located in a mall, so you might have to enter from the back if you check in very late.

Service was very fast, and our room was on the 7th floor. Views weren't exactly the best, but the room was. There's 2 beds in total for 4 people, and it has your basic necessities [kettles, cups, coasters, toothbrush toothpaste etc.]. Kinda wish they'd provide spoons for you to stir your hot drink, and more convenient outlets to boil the water in the kettle.

There was hot water provided, but the shower has no door, so you have to stay inside more so that less water escapes the shower.

There's a lounge on the 5th floor open 24/7 which plays calming music up till night time. Laundry services are provided, as well as a minibar on the 6th floor and hot water/cups/microwave ovens on the same floor as the lounge provided. Overall, a really nice hotel located in the...
