For a start, I shall start off with something nice. Room was relatively clean, it does have a nice bath tub. Location was not bad, yes you can walk to metro but to be honest, it is not near. Many food choices around the area and right in front of the building is a shopping centre with cinema and uniqlo.||||Now the nightmare begins... When we first alighted there I got a shock of my life. The building is so rundown and tattered. Lift is full of cigarette smell. Breakfast was okay. The WORST thing is their service attitude. Front counter receptionist attitude. I don't see smiles on their faces and it's like we owe them a living. And this particular service guy who is on shift during one of the breakfast hours gave me bad attitude from the moment I stepped into the cafe. Then I asked if i can get a bowl of porridge, he outright gave me a no answer and said no more porridge without even checking the pot. Porridge is on the menu btw. I was baffled. Then I saw another lady and asked her. She gladly say yes, and went to bring me a bowl. I was FUMING. What darn attitude did I just receive from this guy early in the morning during my vacation?!? I was talking about it to my family and you know what, HE WALKED TO MY TABLE AND CONFRONTED ME. I told him straight in his face about his attitude and seriously, who the hell he think he is to confront me. He just said if I'm unhappy I can just complain him to the front counter and walked away. RUINED MY HOLIDAY AND EXPERIENCE WITH THIS HOTEL TOTALLY. I WILL NEVER EVER COME BACK TO THIS HOTEL AGAIN. WORST EXPERIENCE EVER. WORST HOTEL I EVER STAYED WITH THE WORST...
Read moreWhen we arrived at the hotel around midnight we were not impressed as We didn't know where the hotel was. The taxi had already left and we felt lost till we saw a local lady and asked her to direct us to the hotel. She pointed to the lifts and when we got to the 2F, we were so taken aback with this hidden treasure. Instantly, one would think they were in a 5star hotel. I cannot fault this hotel. Our every need was catered for without any fuss. The breakfast was Chinese continental, not like shown on their website but on request we got a western continental which was good enough for us. Although, I would have liked to have had the choice like in the pictures on the website. The staff were very courteous and helpful. Always a smile on their faces. They helped us with tours and any questions we had. They spoke English. Although, there were no western tourists here, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and, if in Taipei again, would return to Bfun2. Or check out the other Beauty Hotels. There is a lovely Park to walk around, there's the glamorous Regent Galleria (Designer shopping mall) and Zhongshan N Rd about a 5 minute walk and roughly a 10 minute walk to the MRT. There is a lot of shopping here and restaurants on the Zhongshan strip. For us, Bfun2 felt like home. Thank you to the reception and house cleaning staff for making our stay so comfortable. Read moreThis hotel uses a tourist trap to it's fullest. If you book more than 1 night, the hotel insists on you paying for your whole stay on your credit card BEFORE they will hand you the key...no refunds or changes for any reason. So if you book for 4 days, you pay for 4 days up front, This is not only unacceptable but is deceptive in it's core and is fraudulent as they claim (when booking) to use your credit card as a deposit for first night only. They lied. They should tell you this when you book but conveniently omit this. This policy applies ONLY to foreign tourists and not to Taiwanese, which makes it even worse. I didn't sleep for 30 hours, had a long flight and grudgingly paid. Bad move on my part.||This hotel does not cater to tourists. Breakfast consists of purely chinese cuisine ( 2 choices only), no seconds. The hotel occupies the first floor in a rather dingy looking run-down building. The rooms either have no windows or have the curtains permanently drawn, they actually asked you not to open the curtains, if you do you stare at windows that haven't been washed for quite sometime. The hotel is surrounded by run-down buildings that haven't seen a coat of paint in decades. The rooms are ok but small. Location is not bad but a long way from the metro. There are far better choices...
