Syabu-yo Shin Shin Department Store — Restaurant in Zhongshan District

The worst reception of any place I've ever been. There was nobody at the front reception at 5;03 PM then a female staff walked up with a phone to her ear. I thought she was asking me how many people in my party, so I was about to show her the reservation number my aunt has made for us. This horrific creature held up her left hand and yelled at me, indicating she wasn't talking to me while nicely chatting on the phone taking a reservation for the phone customer.

I was still in shock and angry when she got off the phone to ask me what I wanted. I blew up on her saying she doesn't know how to treat people accordingly and that I refuse to talk to her.

I have never encountered such a nonsensical lack of service in Taiwan or any other countries I've visited or resided. I don't understand how any business can operate nor thrive with this...

I probably went to all of it's locations in Taiwan. All of them impressed me as clean and fresh ingredients, prompt service and friendly staffs

I'm actually not too concerned about the decor in the restaurant but more concern about food safety which is the most importance factor at restaurants selection! It seems most of the hospitality industry in Taiwan isn't trained as much as those in the States! Most of them do not understand the importance of food safety.

The staff shows me that they care about their service and was kind enough to explain to me how they handle their perishables...

This is my go to place when I'm looking for a pleasant meal, quality buffet style, and good value for price. Although I'm a beef lover, but I always choose pork when I visit. They use local pork, which is super sweet and flavorful. Although they do provide a lot options for sauce, but I'll say the original taste from the pork meat is good enough for me enjoy this Taiwan-Japan style...
