This was one of the best Dim Sum places you can find in Taipei at a reasonable price. The waitress who was from Hong Kong told us the dim sum chef was also from Hong Kong. The last time I was here was a few months ago. Used to recommend it to all my fellow friends in Taiwan and everyone praised it.
Went again today after awhile. Ordered take out of dim sum s the wait was long. Wanted to try the roast pork. Tell tale signs arose when the waiter told me that roast pork was not availabke today (today os Sunday and only available Fri-Sun) because they couldnt get thr quality right. I started eating the take out immediately in the car. I must say it is now not as good;烧麦,虾饺 and 叉烧包 (siew Mai, Har Gao and char siew bao) quality has deteoriated; the filling tasted like it was placed in a blender and couldn't get a good bite texture. 叉烧包 was also not as good overall.
We then called immediately around 2pm to give them our feedback, and asked if the Hong Kong chef has left. The lady on the phone was genuinely sincere in getting our feedback and assured us that the restaurant did not make anyone leave, but didn't directly answer our question. I do hope the quality will revert and I look forward to that day so that I can again enjoy good food here...
Read moreI was taken here by my buddy's girl and her friends. I cannot say this restaurant is in the Ximen or Wan Hua District. We did take a taxi there. Took about maybe a 10 minute ride from the Ximen area. Because we went there mostly at night (around midnight or so - this place closes at 5am and reopens around 10 am), nice big dim sum restaurant. Decent selection of popular dim sum dishes and other foods. Not too bad of a spot. Location in on the 2nd floor, next to some local movie theater joint. Food was not bad. Again, your common dim sum dishes and some more non dim sum selections, nothing special, but a good late night joint to hang out if you are in the mood for dim sum. Only reason I gave it 4 stars is because if this was located more closer to Ximen, I probably give it a hire rating. Staff is nice and all, but the fact that this place I had no idea about to begin with and was a friend's recommendation (she lived in Taipei), otherwise I would have never found this place as it is mostly in a rural residential / commercial area, not really considered a...
Read moreElegant Hong Kong style decoration. The environment was spacious and bright. Suitable for family gathering.
The menu offered a wide variety of options. Including Taiwanese food, Cantonese dim sum, dessert and drinks.
Fujian Fried Rice was special and worth trying! You can tasted each grain of rice and the smooth thickened sauce at the same time.
Shrimp Rice Roll was tasty. The shrimp was big, fresh and sweet. Deep-fried Shrimp Bean Curd Roll was too greasy for me. Braised Chicken Feet was okay but wasn't spicy at all.
BBQ Pork Puff Pastry and Portuguese Egg Tart was awesome. Must to order! Lettuce Wrap with Minced Shrimp was a bit disappointing. It was too salty and didn't tasted fried dough stick in it.
Affordable price and efficient service. We had a great dinner experience at this time. Definitely will visit again.
