Ximen Hotel — Hotel in Taipei

Here is my unbiased review. I booked a business double room (though there is nothing business about the room just a slightly bigger room). The staffs were good enough and accommodating, which wasn't much a concern as you wouldn't interact much with them.

Coffee machine, good wifi, keycard access. Room's interior was modern and decent. Queen size bed, and everything typical in a boutique hotel except that there was no wardrobe but an attached clothes hanger. Basic toiletries are provided Room slippers as well. Some rooms have a bathtub, some don't. Small balcony with no view, likely for your smoking endeavors.

Daily house keeping was done promptly and towels were changed without request. TV Channels are fine, mostly asian chinese movies, or else HBO and Fox.

Location, as with most hotels in ximending, is unquestioned 24hrs MOS Burger downstairs, 7-Eleven opposite side of road, 50m away from the shopping district, 100 odd metres away from the train station. This should be considered a late review. We stayed for three nights November 15th 2012, we booked a three persons room. Firstly, the front desk staffs are not friendly a all and the "front desk" looks like ticket counter. The room given was terrible, main wall was not painted with wooden patches, shower was leaking like hell, with toilet floor flooded. After several complains, we were finally given a new room the next day. The new room floor was not clean and washroom hot water supply not reliable. Ximen Hotel in Taiwan is a wonderful and economy wise hotel. Accommodation from thw front desk at the 2nd floor is very warm. The wifi is fast and we even got a free gift sandwich and soda for 2 for our birthday present last October 2018. Its also good walking around streets and avenues where you may see other foreigners and even "kababayan" at the streets of Taiwan. Food is also yummy and clean as they prepare them as you order.
