Since most of the film festivals use these theaters, you if you want to see any of those movies, you don't have a choice. But, this building is in great need of upgrading. The escalators are in very bad shape and make a lot of noise. There are many shops that are vacant or run down. It's in a prime location, so a little investment should...

新世界館位於西門町，於大正9年(1920)12月落成啟用，當時內部有榻榻米席，也有氣勢磅礡的樂隊，設備十分豪華，是當時台灣最大的電影院，並帶起西門町的電影時代。戰後成為中央電影公司所在地，1965年中影董事會議通過，將坐落於西門町的新世界戲院改建為八層樓高的「新世界商業大樓」，7樓做為電影院使用，即今「真善美戲院」，擁有者仍是是中影股份有限公司。

1999年，新世界戲院停業。2002年，誠品進駐新世界商業大樓，以該大樓地址漢中街116號為名，取名為「誠品116」。年輕人印象最深刻的莫過於捷運出口的誠品116與商業大樓外的廣告牆，2015年12月31日，誠品116因為租金高漲而結束營業，目前2016年後是由號稱「亞洲最大旗艦店」...
