Nestled in the bustling heart of Yilan, Taiwan, I recently stumbled upon a hotel that proved to be a delightful surprise, marrying affordability with comfort in an unbeatable location. My stay, although brief, left a lasting impression, compelling me to recommend this hidden gem to travelers seeking a genuine local experience without breaking the bank.
Affordability Meets Comfort
First and foremost, the hotel’s affordability is a standout feature. In an era where travel costs are perpetually rising, finding a budget-friendly option that doesn’t skimp on quality is a rare feat. This establishment defies the odds, providing guests with excellent value for their money.
Prime Location for Nightlife and Culture
A major highlight of the hotel is its proximity to Yilan’s famous night market. The convenience of being a stone’s throw away from vibrant stalls and lively alleyways enriched our experience, allowing us to immerse ourselves in the local culture effortlessly. The night market, a kaleidoscope of sights, sounds, and tastes, became our nightly adventure, all within easy walking distance from the comfort of our hotel.
Spacious, Clean Rooms with a View
The cleanliness and spaciousness of the rooms deserve special mention. Our top-floor room offered a panoramic view of the night market and surrounding alleyways, turning our stay into a picturesque experience. The cool March weather complemented our visit perfectly, eliminating the need for air conditioning and enhancing the room’s comfort.
Short but Sweet Stay
Although our time at the hotel was limited to an overnight stay as we were en route to another city, every hour spent was a testament to the hotel’s thoughtful amenities and consideration for guests on a budget. The room was well-equipped with essentials, ensuring a comfortable and hassle-free stay.
Warm Hospitality and Local Charm
The staff’s friendliness and hospitality further amplified our positive experience. Their warm welcome and eagerness to assist made us feel at home, adding a personal touch to our stay.
A Local Experience Worth Recommending
This hotel is more than just a place to sleep; it’s a gateway to experiencing Yilan like a local. Its unbeatable combination of affordability, location, and quality makes it a perfect choice for budget-conscious travelers eager to explore the city’s dining, cultural, and nightlife offerings.
In summary, for those planning a visit to Yilan and looking for an accommodation that ticks all the boxes of a great stay without straining your wallet, this hotel is a worthy contender. Its close proximity to the night market, coupled with the clean, spacious rooms and friendly staff, ensures a memorable and authentic local experience. I wholeheartedly recommend this hotel to anyone seeking a comfortable, convenient, and cost-effective...
Read moreI booked 2 rooms in this hotel for the night of 14 July through a website that starts with A. When I arrived at the hotel on 14 July at 7:00p.m., the hotel staff told me that due to the fact that they cannot secure payment through my American Express (AE) card, they had decided to cancel my booking on 14 July at 13:00.||||I was furious, shocked and felt betrayed indeed. That booking-website told me that I did not need to pay in advance and settle the hotel rental on 14 July. I asked the hotel staff for the explicit documents to show their efforts to connect with me and to tell me to use another card. They just said that they had been advised by Booking.com to cancel such booking. ||||That hotel staff was very rude and treated us as being a nuisance to the other guests. ||||Yes, 14 July was a Saturday and given the close proximity to the Yilan train station, i am sure that this hotel should have been over-booked. But why jeopardized my interests? ||||My questions are:||||(1) Why booking website that starts with A did not tell me in advance that AE was not accepted ?||(2) Why the hotel did not connect with me but rely on the advice from that booking website||(3) Why the hotel staff did not listen to me but just treated me as if I have committed a crime? ||||My AE card has just been used in June 2018 when i paid for the hotel bills in Edinburge Scotland. ||||(4) Why the hotel did not give me any emergency contact so that I could seek for other help? ||||Luckily, my hired-taxi-driver found us another place for the night of 14 July, otherwise, we would have stayed uncovered. ||||The hotel said that they had "tried" to contact me on 12 July and 13 July, sorry, I was already on my trip in Taipei. How dare you presume that I would have access to computer ? ||||I have lodged complaint to the Taiwan Tourism Bureau and that booking website that starts with A. ||||That booking website starts with A was so naive as to prompt me to book through them again with a discount. All is rubbish I will never book through this booking website again. ||||Lessons to be learned, guys:||||Lesson 1 ; Never use AE to book any hotels in Taiwan.||||Lesson 2 : Maintain respect with the hotel staff even though they treat you as thieves, because afterall, only fools will mess with fools. ||||Lesson 3 : Better book rooms in the hotel's website to avoid...
Read moreMe and me Taiwanese girlfriend stayed at this hotel. We knew when we booked it that we were going low budget here little did we know just how low budget.
First issue is that the room is really dark. It does have a window but it's small and overlooks a dank dark alley. The pictures on their website doesn't do it justice and smartly refrains from showing this part of the room.
The old guy manning the the front desk came across as snooty and friendly.
Most disturbingly my girlfriend claims to have a felt a ghost in the room on our first night and while i didn't see anything myself i did notice some odd things about the room.
Lastly i'm fairly sure we were given a different one than the one i booked on their website. A cheaper one than the one that was advertised.
When we stayed there it looked like the better rooms including the one that i had originally booked were being refurbished.
My suggestion: Due to unrealistic prices of Yilan hotels fork out the cash and find a nice b&b in the area. A lot less hassle and...
