Pros: Very good location in the center of Stone Town with walkable distance to everything. We just turned up at the door without booking. No problem with the staff, we could even negotiate the price of the room. Also very polite when serving breakfast. They have free wi-fi in the rooms, fan and AC. The beds have a mosquito net around it. Bathrooms had hot water. Breakfast is included with coffee/tea, juice, bread with butter or jam, fruit and eggs (fried/scrambled/omelet). You can buy big bottles of water from the reception for 1000 tzs each. | |Cons: The standard price of 40$ per night is a bit too much for a sometimes noisy room with shared bathroom, a shower with very low pressure and it's very difficult to control the temperature. The rooms were nicely furnished and clean, the bathroom is shared but clean (there were not many other guests at the time) and breakfast is tasty (eggs, toast, fruit, juice, coffee and tea). You can book tours at the reception and there's a nice restaurant right across the street. Location is great, in the middle of stone town. The only negative aspect is the noise: in the morning we were awaken by noise from outside, even though the windows were closed and we had earplugs. After days in low-quality, dirty budget hotels, we really enjoyed our stay at Jambo and would...
