The supposedly real tanzanite jewellery item that I bought there had discolored (from originally blue to dark red) and I came to the counter to ask advice. The jewellry attendant immediately became aggressive stating that I must think the stone is fake. However, I had calmly asked if they can help with the discoloration (clean) or refund me as real tanzanite stones do not change color. I had also not received a certificate for the stone. She then called a young man who seemed to be part of the managment team who very aggressively told me "to go back to my own country if I think everything is bad here" (I am however a local) as well as sending me to other tanzanite shops around to ask them to check the stones authenticity. I did. At the store Lithos Zanzibar I was told the stone is a fake as real tanzanites do not discolor. I did not dare step back into memories of zanzibar to face the aggressive staff there after this episode. By all means, keep your money....
