First of all today was our 6 year wedding anniversary and we decided to give Dreamer Cnx a try since we were craving pizza we usually go to our beloved By Hand pizza Cafe but today thought we would try another pizza place, big mistake. We got there and decided to sit in the air conditioned section. No one waited on us. I had to walk out and ask someone to come take my order. Major problem ordering which I have not had in all the years I've been coming to Thailand, the young man taking the order did not understand what I was ordering I did half mushroom/ spinach pizza and the other half a Margherita pizza with pesto sauce and a garden salad with balsamic vinegar and oil dressing. We waited almost one hour no one even wondered why we hadn't eaten again I had to call in them and ask about my dinner, well come to find out the young man that took out order was over whelmed by the owner or manager who was yelling at him that he forgot to put in our order. In the meantime we are starving, I almost just walked out which I should have done. Then our salad finally arrives with Ceasars dressing on it and balsamic vinegar on the side. I explained to them again that I wanted a garden salad with oil and vinegar I also made sure to use Google translate from the beginning but they still don't understand. It was really frustrating and after an hour we finally got the pizza and they forgot to put pesto sauce on half the pizza. I'll be honest the pizza does taste good but not worth a one hour wait. Then I get the bill and they over charged us. The pizza should have been half a spinach pizza which was 275thb and half a Margherita pizza which was 240thb which would make it $257.50 plus 155 for the salad. They wanted to charge me $350 for the pizza because they said I got half and half which is how they tried to justify it. There most expensive pizza wasn't even $350 and I was charged for black olive that I never asked for on the salad. Anyways they ruined our lovely evening and I should have just gone to By Hand Pizza Cafe that right around the corner from them which is also wood fire cooked pizza and is delecious and very fast service and its always packed with tourist and I still manage to get my pizza in about 15 minutes or less. Hope the owner can learn from there mistake and learn to hand better customer service.
I've posted the first photo of Dreamer cnx which is pretty empty and the other 2 photos of By Hand Pizza Cafe that is always full of customers on a daily basis. Service and good food is...
Read moreThis is a hidden gem!! The traditional stone baked pizzas are awesome and the wine was great too, at only 130 baht a glass! Very good value! The staff are also extremely accommodating, my husband is vegan and although they don’t have a vegan menu the chef came over and advised my husband what to order and it was delicious. I had a traditional margherita pizza which was really good…we both went for the 12 inch which was too big for me, I could only eat half so the staff boxed it up for me to take home.
The restaurant offers inside eating with air con which is big enough for a large group or a lovely outside dining area, we chose to sit outside because even in rainy season the outside is covered so it was perfect.
What’s also fantastic about this restaurant is that there is parking and plenty of it….this is so difficult to find at a restaurant in the old city and to be honest usually puts us off going to dine in the old city as we don’t have bikes, just a car. So this place is so convenient.
As for value for money, we thought it was great…2 large stone oven pizzas and 2 large glasses of wine for 785baht. We’ll definitely be back to try more pizzas. They also do burgers, salads and a selection of Thai dishes...
Read moreA really cool building and space for a pizza parlor. It’s quiet, in a natural setting, and the interior has a fun design that feels somewhat Oaxacan almost. The staff are very friendly and helpful, they have good A/C, and the menus are very attractive-looking.
I ordered a caprese salad and a pepperoni pizza. The caprese was pretty good, about at the same level as most you can find in Southeast Asia, whether Cambodia, Vietnam, or Thailand. I find the tomatoes used to be slightly stiff and lacking flavor most of the time, which was the same at Dreamer.
The pizza was pretty good. The highlights were the crisp on the crust, the doughiness (some like and some don’t), and the quality of the pepperoni. It wasn’t overly salty and they gave a good portion. For me, the sauce and cheese were kind of middle-of-the-road.
You’ve got to judge a pizza in context—I’ve had pizza in Napoli that brought tears to my eyes, so of course I’m not going to hold a shop in Northern Thailand to that standard.
Final breakdown: Service & Atmosphere: 5/5 Caprese:...
