We thoroughly enjoyed our 5 night stay here. We arrived and was warmly greeted by 3 lovely staff members and made to feel welcome. We arrived before check in time but room was ready so we were taken straight away. (We had poolside view room) |The room is a great size with a fridge, safe and aircon. |The only thing that it does lack is storage space, there is a small wadrobe with 3 drawers but not enough room for 2 of us. It's not a major issue as we are only here for 5 nights. |Location of hotel is good and you can walk into the old city which is about 15-20mins, you can also walk to anusarn market and night bazaar too in 10 minutes. |There is a big walking street market every sunday which is good to go and look around but be prepared to walk for miles! |If you come out of hotel and turn right there is a launderette where you can get 1kg of washing done for 40BHT. ||The lady at breakfast is super friendly and asks about your day etc. Food is great, there is a menu in which you can choose 1 out of the 4 cooked breakfasts and which includes two traditional thai dishes, pancakes or an American breakfast. There is also a buffet which includes cereal, toast, fruit, yogurt, salad and 3 different cooked dishes which they alternate each day. ||I would highly recommend booking excursions through the hotel as this was simple to do. The hotel contact the company and arrange the trip aswell ss transportation. We booked 3 different trips via the hotel and had no problems at all. They were all quick and easy. The first trip we booked was to the mae ping river cruise which we wanted to visit that day, the lady called and they said they can pick us up within 10 minutes and take us, the service was fantastic. |We booked a taxi for the airport half an hour before we left hotel and it was quick infact it arrived early and was really reasonable. Staff are very friendly, helpful...

From the moment you arrive at Thee Kashatharn, you’re enveloped in a serene blend of contemporary Thai elegance and warm Northern hospitality. Nestled in the vibrant heart of Chiang Mai, this boutique hotel by TH District is a haven for travelers seeking both comfort and culture.
The design is truly impeccable—modern, yet deeply respectful of Lanna heritage. Every detail feels intentional, from the refined wood finishes and soft lighting to the locally inspired art pieces that adorn the walls. The rooms are spacious, spotless, and thoughtfully furnished, offering plush bedding, high-end amenities, and quiet surroundings despite being centrally located.
What truly sets Thee Kashatharn apart, however, is the service. The staff go above and beyond, treating you more like a welcomed guest in their home than a hotel patron. They’re always ready with a smile, local recommendations, or even just a kind word. Whether you’re looking for a hidden noodle spot or the best time to visit Doi Suthep, their insights are spot-on and heartfelt.
The breakfast is another highlight. Made with fresh, local ingredients and served with a smile. The outdoor seating area adds an extra layer of relaxation, perfect for starting the day with a cup of locally sourced coffee.

Read moreWalked past for a quick check when passing through town a week earlier and would have cancelled if not pre paid. Told no smoking even on balcony when checking in, then no chair on balcony! Surely the point of booking a balcony is to sit and/or smoke on it! On a back street which becomes a bike racetrack at night. Cockerels living next door crowing from early morning.|The room has the least clothes storage ever. And a 1st generation memory foam mattress topper which I don’t like. Bathroom ok. Loads of little extras like earplugs, extension lead with loads of sockets but poor bedside lamps. Room next to cleaners storage room. 2nd morning woken at 7.15 by cleaners shouting at each other and radio messages. I suspect another guest complained as it didn’t happen again. Cleaning staff sit in the room in the after chatting with a radio on so no afternoon nap possible. Music playing by the pool from early morning which is quite unnecessary. Pool built on what was probably the parking area and four loungers for 40 or so rooms. Sometimes a queue. Breakfast ok. There seemed to be several staff busy doing something all day and food available during the day. Several feral cats wandering around and making a racket most of the day. Unused gym and a bar open in the evening.|I dithered between 1 and 3 stars eventually being generous. There are better hotels for over €35 per night or similar for much less. The photos show plenty of the one or two wonderful and much more expensive rooms which give a false idea of a normal room. Location ok for local amenities but wandering around the local area may be concerning for the less confident.|As is almost always the case the staff...
