Read moreI do enjoy coming here as it stops a variety of goods all in one place. Friendly helpful staff but not one ever asked me for my membership card number, yet I speak Thai, and I have never heard them not ask a Thai person - really need to sort that out, as many servers do speak English here.
What I dislike, the lack of being able to find a basket anytime of the day you walk in. The massive ques at the busiest of times with staff out stocking shelves, instead of a manager being around to call people to the tills.
The constant drive to give you plastic bags even if you bring your own - Big C launched a huge no plastic bag project in Bangkok a couple of years back, I’ve never seen it in place here in Chiang Mai. Managers need to drive the project, I’ve actually never seen a manager in any of the Chiang Mai branches.

Due to the narrow width of the lane, we can only queue in one line behind all the counters. And you know there are always some selfish people who will just pop in and approach the cashier. This time it's a pair of white men. They just went straight to a nearly finished cashier. When I told them to get into the queue, they pretended that they were right. I stopped talking to them but just placed my stuff on the cashier's desk. They didn't cut my sequence but they would be the next to be served, because the cashiers were so dumb to even say a word about this!
