Satun Dive Resort : Koh Lipe — Hotel in Ko Lipe

Since there are almost no reviews on the ACCOMODATION this Place offers I will start there: We booked a simple Bungalow for 15USD on Agoda which is ultra cheap for this Island. Upon arrival we realized we want something bigger and more Luxurious, as the Bungalows are great though very simple and don’t offer AC, so we upgraded to the two Story Huts upon arrival. Employee Named Sin was always very helpful and offered top Service all the Time! The Bottom Floor has AC and a 1 Person bed with another Bed hidden beneath it. So we slept downstairs and not on the Queensize upstairs, because of the AC (Top Level has Fans and Mosquito net). So yes the Place could technically fit 4 Adults. The duplex Huts we’re not available for me online but if you contact the Place they should have some! Paid 1000thb on top/Day to get the Duplex and Id say it’s very worth the Investment. You get Water Bottles and a Fridge on top. The Place is nicely designed to make you comfy and importantly, CLEAN! Also I do not think any Place offers this Price/value relation on the Island as I have checked!!!

Now to the DIVING: staying with the place, gave us a discount on activities like kayaking and diving, which was great. I highly recommend both activities with this Place. They are THE BEST! Diving from Equipment, Briefing and the Dive itself and the guidance from the DiveMaster/Instructor have been A1! Extremely happy with everything! Ibo gave us space to explore while making sure we are safe and in communication at all times! Stonehenge has the best Soft coral you will see! Amazing.

Overall a 5 Star Review. Place feels like home. From Staff to the Resort itself which is super Nice at the Beachfront and imbedded in Nature. Walking in the Resort feels like walking in a Garden. I have dived several times with Satun Dive center and each time has been a quality experience. They have 3 separate purpose built dive boats which range in size from holding about 5 to 10 divers per boat. This choice of boats ensures that several diving locations a day are possible. Generally 3 to 4 departures in the high season. It also allows for certified divers and students to be designated their own boat to accommodate each diver/students individual needs. ||It's a beautiful and charming resort and dive center built in the traditional Thai style, with simple but very well maintained bamboo bungalows and beautifully manicured garden areas. The rooms are all fan but they do come with a hot water showers which is a nice added bonus. After completing several dives a day, getting into a cold shower is not terribly fun. They also have 2 story, 2 bedroom family rooms which again have breathtaking views overlooking the beach. ||The dive center is literally right on the beach. Just steps from the sea which means there is no palaver or transferring necessary before leaving and returning from dives. You simply walk a few meters and you are at the boat already. Several of the best dive sites in Lipe such as Stonehenge and Talang and Steps are just a short 15 to 20 minutes away on the boat. ||The dive equipment is of a high quality. a wide array or sizes from xxxs to xxxl Aqualung BCDs and wetsuits. Fins are closed heel so if you prefer booties you may want to bring your own. A choice of masks from Mares to Aqualung and several other brands are there to suit all types of faces. It was hard to contact them for booking. Eventually, they replied on email and proceeded to do booking for 2 days fund dives (2 dives per day).

They offer the cheapest refresher for 500baht. Only realised the refresher is not really adequate. We were in a group of 3 (1 Advanced + 2 Open Water). They conducted the refresher session during the 1st dive- which was a bummer because I did not sign up for the refresher session but had to also follow my friends on their refresher session. Hence my first dive was kind of wasted- did not go to a nice dive spot. Very disappointing :( felt tht was a waste.

The PIC also brought a mismatch pair of fins on the boat (diff sizes). My friend had to wear one fin with rubber band to hold it together, so you shd chck all of your equipments before the boat depart.

Briefings were not done properly as well, which i find very worrying. Esp in terms of the SOP during emergencies and all.

Location wise, we took the tuktuk since we stay on the sunset beach. the DC is on sunrise beach, which is very lively.

Equipments seem well maintained. Boats look safe. Hygiene and cleanliness of the centre is okay also. no bad reviews.

Price wise, standard rate offered but Satun price includes the marine fee. Other DC usually exclude the fee, so we need to add on the 200baht on top of fee, payment can be made in cash and card (3% charge). (still need to pay park fee upon arrival on the island)

Food provided is halal, which is rare and convenient for us.
