Harmony Bed & Bakery — Hotel in Ko Lipe

The good:|-It’s cheap (for Koh Lipe) but still nice|-the AC works well|-they provide two bottles of water each day and daily housekeeping— if you don’t want them to come in, they leave water, toilet paper, and fresh towels at your door|-the people are really nice|-the bakery and coffee shop downstairs are consistent|-the rooms are a decent size and the TV has a couple movie channels|-the water is heated well|-the location is amazing— right next to Walking Street but still in a quiet area|The bad:|-my door did not close without pulling it hard, and twice I returned to find housekeeper left it full on open without realizing— even after instructing them to be sure it’s closed, it happened again, so I started putting my “Do Not Disturb” sign out|-the water pressure isn’t great, but it works and it’s hot|-the WiFi is a mess— I never did get it to work in 8 days—I’m just glad I was not dependent on it|-the hose by the toilet was leaking so bad it flooded my bathroom—luckily, they left two additional towels each day, so I was able to just mop it up as needed|-there isn’t a lot of light in the rooms— I preferred this, but don’t count on sunny...

There is a free pickup from and to the jetty. Everything about this hotel is ok. No complaints. Only thing is, they had to rush me to checkout by 9-9.30am so that the next visitors could check in, but also to make sure I make it on time to the immigration at the jetty for the 11am boat. The waiting time for both arriving and departing the island took a few hours combined, which luckily the hotel compensates by ensuring smooth transition to and from the jetty with efficient checking in. 7-eleven is just 2 minutes walk away. All necessary things can be purchased nearby. Walking street is just 1 minutes walk, and the nice sunrise beach is 5 minutes walk. However, I decided to walk over 15-20 minutes to sunset beach which is less crowded and more privacy. No breakfast provided by the hotel but free 2 bottled water.||||The only downside is that upon arrival and having a short afternoon nap, I woke up with red ants on the bed and climbing over me.
