PJ Watergate Hotel — Hotel in Makkasan Subdistrict

Do not go to this hotel. I do not recommend this hotel to anyone. Think twice before going and read all the reviews of the customers.

They provide 2 water bottles to the room daily. On the second day we did not received the water bottles. When we ask from the reception regarding the water bottles they asked 30 Bath per bottle. We said that we did not received it but they kept on asking money and did not give it either even its their mistake.

We lost two sunglasses. We went for shopping. We are very sure that it was on the table. We locked our bags before leaving the hotel but sunglasses were on the table and got missing. We thought that the staff are genuine but never trust the room service of this hotel.

On the last day, it was our third day in the hotel. We packed everything and kept our luggages in the hotel lobby. Because checkout was at 12.00 pm and we had our flight at 5.00 pm. So we kept our belongings at about 10 am and went for shopping. Two girls and myself left early, two aunts left the hotel at 12.00 pm. Reception has asked aunts to pay 500 Baht for the towel saying that it has a pink stain. She informed us immediately after the complaint. After we came to the hotel we asked why they ask money for the towel since its very normal. They said they need money because it has pink stain and it was hair colour. Then we said why are you complaining at the last moment because we used 3 towels for 3 days. Why asking money only for this. They said they put it in the laundry and it didn’t go. They said if they find the other 2 towels also we need to pay 1500 baht for towels. My sister had to prove that it was her hair colour. So receptionist came to the washroom and asked to wash the hair. And even without washing powder the stain removed after washing the towel. I realized that they have not washed the towel and trying to lie to get money. So we asked for washing powder. And i washed one part of the towel. The stain went. Then we showed the receptionist the towel. They asked us to wash the towel fully. If not to pay. Then we argued. Without putting the towel in the laundry they ask money from the customer at the last moment. So that they get panic and pay for it. We even got late. They closed their gate barriers and did not let us leave the hotel. They asked us to wash it fully. At first they said they washed it how come it gets removed when we washed. Terrible staff. They tried to take money from the customers so that they can share among them later. We actually have evidence of the scenario.

Do not go to this hotel. We are not the only people who faced for unpleasant situations. 5 Sri lankan guys left the hotel by saying they got fedup with the staff. And also another Sri Lankan uncle said that they are asking unreasonable amount of money for extending two days. So he even checked out...

The hotel is not a five star one.but they have five star sirvice.friendly staff except .clean & hygenic rooms, clean bathrooms, close to the main markets in bangkok.Can walk to indra square,platinum mall, watergate pavillion,pratunam market within 10-15 minutes.Also we can catch a taxi to the MBK shopping center and can go there within 15-20 minutes.This hotel cost not much price and it’s better for your low budget tour.All rooms are lucury and all needs have being fulfilled there. Inside of the hotel is very calm and quiet.can have a deep rest after a nice shopping.The food is also very tasty and the buffet is changing day by day.The safetiness is also very high.So mamy foreign textile business owners come here to stay because of that freedom they gives the customer. There are so many places to buy food in there.We can arrange food from the hotel buffet.except that we can buy food from so many places,there are little little food stalls near the hotel and people can taste thai street foods from their.Those streets foods are famous in the night market.Also there are several “seven eleven” supermarkets near the hotel and we can buy anything at anytime from them.(they are 24 hrs open) And also there are so many beauty parlours & saloans,laundries near the hotel and it helps you for your daily needs.Thai beauty products are very famous as well as thai massage.So you can have both of them when you stay here in this hotel.Also there are so many money exchange centers near the hotel and it also really helps you. A good hotel if you’re traveling in Bangkok city mainly for its central location. It’s just around a 150m walk to the city, making it convenient for getting around.From the hotel, shopping malls were easily accessible within walking distance. When I visited in March, most shops in Bangkok town closed around 1 am.

The hotel itself is quite compact and old-fashioned, with a small lobby and an overall dated feel. The buffet was okay but lacked variety. The dining area had live music. The rooms and facilities are suitable for short-term stays, but the staff service was not very friendly. This hotel is best for travelers looking for convenience rather than relaxation. Not the ideal place if you’re planning to spend much time relaxing at the hotel.

One negative experience we had was that the staff entered our room and cleaned it without us requesting housekeeping. While nothing was lost, it’s still not acceptable for them to enter without permission. This is something the hotel should definitely improve on, as it affects guests’ sense of privacy.
