Bombay Delight - A Reliable Indian Vegetarian Option in Bangkok
Located in MBK mall, Bombay Delight serves as a convenient spot for Indian vegetarian cuisine in Bangkok's bustling mall scene. My recent dining experience here was pleasant overall, though not particularly memorable.
The Food (4/5): We opted for the Vegetarian Thali, which delivered on taste and authenticity. The platter included dal, vegetable curry, rice, roti, raita, and a small sweet - all prepared with proper spices and flavor balance. While not extraordinary, each component was well-made and satisfying.
The Setting (3/5): Being a mall restaurant, the ambiance is what you'd expect - functional and clean, but lacking any distinctive character. The space is brightly lit with simple furnishings, suitable for a quick meal rather than a leisurely dining experience.
Service (3.5/5): Staff members were polite and efficient, though the service felt somewhat impersonal. Our order arrived in reasonable time, matching the expected pace for this type of establishment. Some online reviews mention slower service during peak hours.
Value Proposition (3.5/5): Pricing sits at the typical range for mall restaurants - not cheap, but fair considering the location. The thali offered decent value given its variety, though street-side Indian eateries might provide more generous portions at lower prices.
Final Thoughts: Bombay Delight serves its purpose well as a convenient Indian vegetarian option when shopping in MBK mall. While it doesn't stand out remarkably in any single aspect, it delivers consistent quality where it matters most - in the food. Worth visiting if you're in the mall and craving Indian flavors, but probably not worth a special trip.

Read moreI generally don't write anything negative about Indian restaurants. However, the best part of the Hyderabadi Chicken Biryani was the plate of onions and the raita. By rule, Hyderabadi Biryani are one of the most spicy biryanis in the world but tonight, it was far from it. Even though the quantity was enough for one plate, the quality was not at all good. It was easy to understand that the rice was re-heated in the microwave. Secondly, I don't think the chef tastes the food before serving because it was way salty. The chicken was identifiably old. I did eat everything as I was hungry and had someplace to go. Anyway I hope they change the quality of the biryani. Note: I did not taste anything else. This is just my review on the Hyderabadi Chicken Biryani. Also, to the future reviewers. Please do not say anything negative about them, because the owner or whoever maintains the account, cannot accept critical feedback at all. And their idea of online reputation management is horrific. They just attack you personally. Its so ironic that they can write such things about customers and still get away with this, just because it's another country and most Indians are here on different permits.
To the people at Bombay Delite: If you can't take constructive criticism, it's your fault. The biryani I ordered was Hyderabadi, it wasn't supposed to be north Indian. Secondly, there's nothing called North Indian biryani, it's called Mughlai. If you don't know this much, you ought to be ashamed as the owner of an Indian restaurant. Don't talk about being fair, If I had said anything then, the 2 customers you had that evening would have gone too. Last but not the least, don't lash out empty threats, if you want to do anything, please, by all...
Read moreI did read about staff misbehavior and food quality/quantity issues in reviews, but though what could go wrong with a quick lunch and some street food. I was wrong. Staff’s behavior will disgust you. They not just rude but abusive too, especially ladies at the counter, in back shirts, taking orders. You don’t expect this kind of behaviors by people who supposed to be good in hospitality. Specially when being an Indian, you expect warm welcome by Indian in foreign countries. Food quantity is too less for the price they ask, we have genuine feedback politely. The ladies turned into devils, started misbehaving and abusing us. We lost our appetite. We just wanted to leave without spoiling out day. We paid full bill even for the stuff which did not arrive at the table and rest was left untouched. To the owner – if you really want to survive, change your staff immediately. Rest can...
