A Culinary Journey to India in the Heart of Bangkok - India Gate Restaurant Review

Rating: ★★★★☆ (4/5)

India Gate Restaurant in Bangkok proved to be a delightful escape to the vibrant flavors of Indian cuisine. Nestled in the heart of the city, this establishment offers a compelling blend of authenticity, ambiance, and attentive service.

The menu is a diverse celebration of Indian culinary traditions, featuring a wide array of dishes from various regions. During my visit, I had the pleasure of sampling the Chicken Biryani and Butter Chicken, both of which were expertly prepared and bursting with aromatic spices. The flavors were authentic, and the portion sizes were generous, providing excellent value for money.

The service at India Gate deserves special mention for its efficiency and genuine hospitality. The staff was knowledgeable about the menu, offering recommendations and ensuring that dietary preferences were accommodated. The pacing of the courses was well-managed, allowing for a relaxed and enjoyable dining experience.

While the seating arrangement is comfortable, the addition of a few more private or intimate dining spaces could enhance the overall dining experience, especially for couples or small groups seeking a more secluded setting.

As for the location, India Gate is conveniently situated, making it easily accessible for locals and tourists alike. The proximity to popular attractions and public transportation adds to the restaurant's appeal as a culinary destination in Bangkok.

In conclusion, India Gate Restaurant offers a captivating journey into the heart of Indian cuisine in the midst of Bangkok. With its authentic flavors, inviting ambiance, and attentive service, it stands out as a noteworthy dining option in the city. While some minor improvements in seating options could be considered, the overall experience warrants a solid four-star rating. I would recommend India Gate to anyone seeking an authentic and satisfying Indian dining...

Unimpressed. I LOVE Indian food. I have the pleasure of eating it everywhere around the world and this, by far, was my least favourite! To begin, when you enter the building there is a nasty smell that permeates the lobby. This stench continues as you WALK down the escalator stairs to the basement level which is where the restaurant is located. Upon my arrival there seemed to be several busloads of Indian tourists entering the restaurant. I was able to get inside (due to the LOOOOONG line of tourists filing-in) and grab a table (solo traveler here). The visitors were all there for the lunch buffet and so I decided to order from the menu. I ordered 3 of my favourites: Chicken korma, palak paneer, aloo gobhi and nan. The only dish that had any flavour was the aloo gobhi; however, it was almost all potatoes as there were only 2 small pieces of cauliflower!! The chicken korma were pieces of chicken floating in a bland white sauce without any flavour. Likewise, the palak paneer was bland - except for the smokey/burnt flavour every other mouthful. The nan was thin, flat and burnt. To make matters worse the flow of tourists did NOT abate and the long communal tables for the buffet was filling-up I had 3 men approach my table and ask to sit with me!!!!! The staff finally moved them away from the area to a more open area to cover the overflow. I paid my bill (1022฿ = US$27.70) and quickly fled without the leftovers - it was THAT bad. Try elsewhere or perhaps dinner is better when it is not filled with tour buses dependent...

Indiagate is a gem in Bangkok vibrant food scene , offering some of the best Indian cuisine in the city .My recent visit to this restaurant was a delightful experience from start to finish .The menu boasts a variety of classic Indian dishes, and we decided to try the chicken Tikka masala ,chicken biryani and garlic naan .I must say ,every dish exceeded my expectations in terms of flavor and authentic.

The chicken biryani was beautifully presented ,with perfecty cooked basmati rice layered with render ,spiced chicken .The chicken Tikka masala was another highlight ,it's creamy ,rich sauce was a perfect blend of spices and cream, The ambiance of India gate is cozy and invite, making it a great place to enjoy a meal with friends or family. The restaurant is clean and well-maintained ,with a relaxed atmosphere that allows you to unwind and enjoy your food at a leisurely place. Overall, India gate offers an outstanding dining experience with some of the best Indian food in Bangkok .The quality of the dishes, coupled with exceptional hospitality, makes it a must -visit for anyone craving automatic Indian cuisine. Whether you are a local or a tourist,India gate is sure to leave a lasting impression with it's delicious 😋 food and great 👍 service. If you're in Bangkok looking for a place to enjoy flavorful Indian dishes in welcoming environment, Indian gate is definitely...

I recently visited Indian Gate with high hopes, but unfortunately, my experience was far from satisfying. The primary issue was the food, which was overwhelmingly spicy to the point that it drowned out any potential flavors. It felt as if the chef believed that adding excessive spice could compensate for a lack of taste, but it only made the dishes unpleasant to eat. I appreciate dishes with a kick, but here, the heat was so overpowering that it was impossible to enjoy the meal. The spices were not balanced, and the food lacked depth and complexity. It seemed as though the kitchen forgot that seasoning should enhance flavors, not mask them. The service was fine, but it couldn't make up for the disappointing food. I expected more from a restaurant that came so highly recommended. Unfortunately, I won’t be returning, as there are plenty of other places where the food is both flavorful and appropriately spiced. not mentioning the price is highly

Actually in a far off places like such costly cities other than India this INDIA GATE is serving exceptionally well and won several hearts with their tasty food. The entire staff are very courageous people with good manners and protocol. Overall it’s having a spacious rooms and other ancillary services like Wash rooms and Toilets are maintained in a very hygiene and sanitary. I highly recommend the patrons from all the world ( NRIs) and Indian communities in general. All the best guys.
