City of Massage — Local services in Lumphini Subdistrict

A super frustrating and disappointing experience at this so called highly rated massage place. Firstly I tried to email and got no response, so did asking the hotel to call. I checked on their website and realized they don't do online or call booking and has to be done on-site so fine I visited when the shop opened, followed the instructions on the website wanted to go and make a reservation for the afternoon. So I wanted to do an hour foot and an hour body. I asked to make a reservation for 3pm and the person at the counter told me I can't make reservation. How ridiculous it is they totally don't follow the booking procedure on the website! The person (I don't know the gender) said if I wanted to do at 3pm I should walk in at 3. So I said fine I want to do both the foot and the body right now and she said oh I can only do foot now no body. Don't understand what the person meant by no body massage until past 2pm. So I went for walk and lunch and came back at 3 and then I said I wanted to do foot and body and was told only foot available no body massage for the rest of the day. I couldn't understand the logic whether it was due to limited beds or masseurs cause I don't see any beds and I saw so many masseurs walking around. Then I asked for male masseur but was told none available and assigned a female one for me. In the end I chose to do a foot massage which was mediocre and while massaging there were just like 3-4 male masseurs just walking around and the next person came in just got assigned a male masseur. Very bad customer service and the procedures don't even follow what they stipulated on the website total waste of time. So angry and dissatisfied I just finished the massage and looked for another massage place nearby to do my body massage. This spa looked so inviting from the outside, but unfortunately, our experience didn’t live up to expectations.

We went in three nights in a row, hoping to book a treatment, but despite several beds visibly open each time, we were told they had no availability.

It was quite disappointing as we were really looking forward to trying this place based on the initial impression.

When they finally did have availability, they could only offer limited treatments — not the ones we had specifically come for. It was frustrating, as each time we asked, they either didn’t have staff or simply couldn’t accommodate our request. The treatments we wanted didn’t seem to be available at all, which was a letdown.

The spa itself looks beautiful and has a nice ambiance, but the lack of organization and flexibility made it feel like a missed opportunity. With so many other options nearby, we eventually chose another place that could accommodate us without the hassle. I’d recommend booking well in advance if you really want to try this spa, but be prepared that availability might be more limited than it appears.

Been to Bangkok countless times, and with City of Massage located at such a prominent location, I can’t believe I’ve been missing out all this while. Why didn’t I patronize this place on my past trips here? City of Massage offers one of the best massages I’ve ever had in Bangkok!

We walked in at 10:30pm and it was already packed. It is a clear sign of how popular it is. Even with a 35-minute wait, it was completely worth it. From the moment my therapist began the 90-minute Head-to-Toe massage I chose, I could tell that this place has some standard in place.

Im typing this review while doing the massage. The massage is incredible! My therapist - Jab was skilled, knowing exactly how to target the pressure points and ease away all the tension, especially those knots I had on my shoulder for the longest time. It was honestly one of the best massages I’ve ever experienced, and I can’t recommend City of Massage highly enough!
